Does anyone perhaps have good photos/diagrams of the pre-1994 descent with all the projections and lights? I understand there were mirrors involved but I’ve never come across a good representation of how the scene was set up and how it looked outside of blurry ride footage and photos

It still amazes me how many tiny details were in the original dark rides considering their short duration and fast ride through.

Hmm. I believe @marni1971 previously confirmed there was nothing up there mechanism wise so unusure how it could be moving in the video. I do see what you mean however. Btw here’s the flash frame from that scene which shows a cable attached to the figures legs.

The large satellite had a moving hinged panel that gave the illusion of the astronaut floating but the smaller one never had actual movement to my knowledge, just the illusion of it from the vehicles passing by and the star projections.

Ironically, his original spot was actually originally at unload by the Speedramp, NOT outside. He had different audio about “minding the gangplank” (available on the CD). He moved outside around 1975 due to people blocking the exit to watch him The Florida Tiki Room also had their own Barker...

I’m hoping they’ll reuse the original Parrot animatronic. AFAIK he’s currently in storage without his feathers or hat, would love to see him restored

The problem with the attraction is that no one bothered to pay attention to the multiple warning signs posted outside the attraction, they just assumed everything Disney has to offer is safe for kids so numerous Parents ignorantly brought their kids aboard the attraction which then proceeded to...

I just see that as “we’ll do anything with him but fix the ride” unfortunately.

Current state of the Cranium Command theater

Sadly that’s pretty much been unchanged since 2018. This situation is just a never ending cycle with no closure.

He’s also still in contact with Matt Sonswa so there’s that too…

I guess you could say this is a canon event 😉
