Theoretically, could you remove the plug, and attach more piping (and a valve) then secure it in place? Or would you need to put new piping in? I imagine just removing the plug and leaving it that way would cause sand to get all over the place.
I believe it was a crack in Lilly’s frame if I’m not mistaken. Running her for the morning show and shop tour with a crack probably made things only worse (even if the load was rather light), but I guess it was still benign (for lack of a better term) enough to keep her running until Disney said...
Had a feeling I was wrong when I thought Lilly was the engine the coordinator was referring to in regards to having issues with tweetsie’s quality of work on one engine. But it could be that he might not be remembering correctly as to why they stopped going to tweetsie.
Mom, I’m famous! 😛
Ah, but seriously now. Didn’t think this documentary/compilation would come up in a discussion about wheelslip, but glad to see my hard work and footage is getting some recognition!
I have somewhat received confirmation from a coordinator that Roy’s out for a refurbishment.
He made mention too that Tweetsie was where they used to send them, but they stopped after one of them came back and they had issues with the quality of work. I have a feeling that it was Lilly, but I...

….Oh how I wish I hadn’t left Florida!
I THINK Walter was shipped off before Lilly returned? Not 100% sure, but that might be the case here considering Roger was sent before Walter’s return (although the railroad was closed)
🎶Roger Broggie’s comin down the track! Comin down the track, with a smokey stack! Hear him thumpin’ goin’ not too fast, Roger’s here to be a pain for the cast! Every time his fire doesn’t wanna light, maintenance has to come and get it right! Time for Mickey Bars and pricey Coke, Roger Broggie’s...
I can tell you now that the speaker is “Alarm”, 2 buttons over is a yellow button which is “Alarm Silence”, and one or both of the big round buttons would obviously be emergency stop. If it’s only one e-stop button, then I’m not sure what the other is for. I’ve tried to get a photo of it now...
Wonder if there’ll be any differences in his rebuild vs Walter’s. I know his “Exciter” box is mounted just below the cab behind the engineer’s seat and there’s a door on the rear box vs Lilly’s (“Showgirl” as I affectionately call her) black box below the cab and the top hatch being the only...
