My issue is that they're continuing to take NEW reservations without an announced plan in place. Disney could set a target date of "July 1st" and instead of saying "just because we are taking reservations, it does not mean we will be open" they could say, "we have every intention of opening on...
As mentioned in a previous post, my trips have been cancelled and will not be rebooked until an opening date has been announced. That doesn't mean I have to agree with the way Disney is handling things, because I don't.
And they should already have reservations waiting without taking news ones, please see above post. Most people book months in advance. My issue is with the NEW reservations they are taking, I book last minute trips, but most of the trips we go on are booked well in advance. They should have...
Please elaborate on their business model since you know it so well...
ETA: If they have a date as far out as the August rumor that would give them plenty of time to get the rooms filled. Additionally many months in advance reservations are booked, there are people that have booked for this week...
If you read a previous post that is exactly what I am doing. I made the first reservation in January (for this week actually). Once it looked like our May dates were not happening, I moved it to July, but have also cancelled the July trip since an opening date hasn't been announced. I have no...
We can hope! Whenever there is an official announcement I plan to rebook, but not before then. We have cancelled 2 trips this summer already, one of which would've put us at AKL this week :( I definitely do not want to tell my girls that we have to cancel another trip, as they are too young to...
This would be exactly why a realistic target date would be helpful. If they have no plans on reopening before August, stop taking reservations before August. Right now "insiders" are suggesting that July is not happening, yet Disney is still taking reservations for July 1.
My frustration is I have had 2 trips cancelled due to the unknown. Disney should stop taking reservations until there is a date announced that they are actually planning to meet. WHEN they open isn't my issue, it's how they are handling the interim.
They should announce a date because they are taking reservations with (from what "insiders" are saying) no plans to reopen. You are correct it could change, but if they realistically think August is the best time to reopen stop taking reservations for July 1st. Do you not think those people who...
Yet they are still taking reservations leading some to believe they plan to open on a specific date. That is where my issue with them lies. Stop the reservations and week by week cancellations until a date is announced.
