Why can't Disney do both? But I agree with you, they have been coaster heavy lately, and seem to continue that trend with Monsters Inc and the rumored coaster for Villains land. I would love to see Disney innovate a new ride system for a dark ride.

Nothing is set in stone until shovels hit the ground, just like they cancelled the Main Street Bypass Theater after they already cleared the spot for it. I think with all this uncertainty in the markets with the tariffs now... maybe Disney will look twice at their plans (hopefully)

I'd say its a safe bet, that DCA's Infinity Defense ride (or a version of it) will eventually make its way here.

I agree with you on both accounts, although take my nostalgia away from MK, I still think IoA needs one more standout dark ride. Kong could have been that if they didn't just copy the tram portion from Hollywood. IoA needs something like Pirates of the Caribbean, long, all ages can ride, not...

I think your "phase 2" is the problem... Disney doesn't want to spend the money to clear the land and build new infrastructure beyond the train berm. In their minds, they can cut a cost-heavy maintenance (demolishing ROA) and build within the berm, it's a win/win in their minds. They're not...

While its a small consolation, at least the new land at AK will be themed to a region of the world, like all the other lands at AK (other than Pandora) what the first showed with Moana and Zootopia taking over DINOSAUR would have been even worse for the park.

Ah yes, EPCOT Center... big difference than what is there now lol. Hell, even the early years of MGM-Studios had great atmosphere, but I was talking about the current day Disney Parks, unfortunately :/
