DAK “Zootopia” is being created for the Tree of Life theater

Excellent review. "One and done" has been something I've said about a lot of new attractions lately (not just at Disney Parks). Most aren't bad at all, just not great enough to rush back to, especially if they produce lengthy waits for a bit.

    WOL Demo coming ..

If they have something secretly in mind, D23 Expo next year would be good timing to announce a replacement. If a demo has already happened, they could say "The shovels are in the ground", which they seemed to enjoy saying last time.

    News Build-Your-Own-Avatar Closed? Probably.

Disney would rather close something than have it at a reasonable price. I never entertained it once I saw how much it was. I do hope that those who did it are satisfied, though.

MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

Just wait until you're waiting in line for HM and you hear the "Beep...beep...beep...bang... howl!"

DHS Disney Animation-Inspired Experience Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

I've argued this one a lot, but PLAY! had no real purpose in EPCOT. It would have been out of the way. There are so many small exhibits and playgrounds (thinking Mission: SPACE, Seas, outdoor by Creations, outdoor between Imagination and Canada, plus all the Kidcot stops, Communicore stuff...

DHS Disney Animation-Inspired Experience Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

I think this is all we'll see here for over a decade, but at least it's getting some love, finally! I'll miss the arch, but the trees and flowers should make it a lot more beautiful to spend time in. It also has something to offer for almost anyone, which is refreshing, and gives the building...

EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

Anyone know if they're currently restricting access to the post-show area or can you just walk in? We have a toddler with us, so we're not interested in riding, but we might check out the new exit area if they'll let us.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

I don't think people really want a fifth theme park. Maybe if it had the old way of designing, but DAK wouldn't happen today, IMHO. Today, it would be Disney Lakeside Adventure Park. Until we get some creative people in charge, which may never happen, it's best to just develop what we have.

DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I believe the area that the playground is going was looked at for an animal exhibit. However, as you can see, there's just no room for anything big outside of that space. At best, there would be frogs, snakes, or spiders in a tank somewhere, but I'm now doubtful; it's possible though since they...

News Disney Parks Chief Josh D'Amaro Says Pricing Model Aims to Keep Vacations Affordable for Families

That's the thing, it's night and day (to me) between the internal executives. Do you go with the people who can't seem to turn around the business they're supposed to be good at or do you go with the one that has gained momentum in the areas that they oversee? Sure, there's issues, but growth...

News Disney Parks Chief Josh D'Amaro Says Pricing Model Aims to Keep Vacations Affordable for Families

He helped (doesn't deserve all the credit) create an opportunity for growth. Park capacities (domestic and foreign) are in expansion, a new park is coming, multiple cruise ships are coming. Meanwhile, those overseeing the film business have had trouble stabilizing it and profitability is...

News Disney Parks Chief Josh D'Amaro Says Pricing Model Aims to Keep Vacations Affordable for Families

For Josh, the biggest one for me was paid resort parking. Started in 2018 and removed in 2023.

News Disney Parks Chief Josh D'Amaro Says Pricing Model Aims to Keep Vacations Affordable for Families

I agree, maybe I wasn't clear. The trio in the 1980's were all outsiders. I'd love a trio like that, but if not, an outsider. My fear though is Disney is too big for one person to oversee everything and get it right. Iger would love to say he does it today, but nope. Thunderbolts* box office...

News Disney Parks Chief Josh D'Amaro Says Pricing Model Aims to Keep Vacations Affordable for Families

IMHO, if it's between D'Amaro and Walden exclusively, I think D'Amaro has earned it more. From a success point of view, his side has been showing signs of long term growth, especially with a new park coming. Meanwhile, the film business... let's just say it's struggling. The best possible...

News V.I.PASSHOLDER Days Coming in June at Walt Disney World

If you're a DVC member, don't go to the AP lounge in Morocco expecting a similar experience to the Imagination lounge. Imagination was quiet mostly with soda (and other drinks like coffee) and assorted snacks. Morocco's AP lounge was crowded with two water containers, Pita chips and a bag of...
