Minecraft Land coming to Chessington World of Adventure (UK) 2027

I think everyone needs to keep their expectations low. Just look at their most current new area (Jumanji) and upcoming area Paw Patrol. This is not going to be anywhere near the scale of any Disney or Universal IP land. The plot of land it is going on is just slightly bigger than Autopia at...

Do you think Shanghai will go for another expansion next or go for a second gate?

The agreement with the state is 22 million annual visitors as the trigger for the 3rd gate with 2036 being the deadline. There are certainly some pathways towards that number but I struggle to see how that will be reached based on current attendance. The figures for 2026 and 2027 will give an...

    Animal Kingdom Lodge Praise

I think you got unlucky. I personally think due to the size of the resort and it only having buses it has a very reliable and frequent bus service. I think the official line is every 20 minutes and I don't think I've ever waited longer than that this side of COVID.

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

I think people far underestimate Europeans willingness to go on water rides in cold weather. Last year I rode the rapids at Efteling in December and a log flume at Phantasialand in January. Plus water rides typically have an annual refurb so I am sure Lion King will be after Christmas to...

Wreck-It Ralph Attraction Coming to TDL in 2026

I don't want to derail the thread (but it does have relevance to how on earth does a rethemed Buzz Light Year shooter ride cost $200,000,000) but I think the point I'm trying to make is that if a ride like Tiana's Bayou Adventure only had animatronics like Splash Mountain did then WDI would pay...

Wreck-It Ralph Attraction Coming to TDL in 2026

It's part of the dodgy internal accounting. I mean I know work isn't done for free but to me it seems like a way of siphoning money from one division (parks) to another division (whatever the media division is called nowadays) I suppose the difference versus old IP projects was when its...

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

The swing ride wasn’t in the original plans. Reportedly it was Iger who asked for a second flat when he rejoined the company and visited the site.

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

From memory Lion King was announced D23 August 2024 and permits were filed April 2025. So I admit that is quite a gap. I have a feeling the permits being filed was delayed slightly due to some... financial pressures so the intended gap was smaller. Either way I wouldn't personally expect an...

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

Yet DLP has the history (barring the big WDSP 2.0 announcements with Macron) of announcing projects just as the permits are due to be filed as opposed to any internal approval.

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

Interesting. As with many Disney projects this feels like many idea/projects/rumours added together which may amount to something? People said Lion King was planned for Adventureland (which I hadn't heard and I don't believe would fit as a land based in animation/fiction) but then Moana I had...

MAGICal DLP News, Rumours & Thoughts

Odd timing... yet perfect timing when this summer, year, the future... is all about 'the other park'! I never understood why it didn't happen during the castle refurb but 🤷‍♂️ The sequencing of Paris projects is often quite unconventional.

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

I'd take a SM4 announcement over a third land at this stage. A third land will happen at DAW one day come what may. We've been stuck with HSM for so long and there have been so many false starts at getting rid of it.

MAGICal DLP News, Rumours & Thoughts

I haven't seen this online (but may have just missed it) but to be honest I thought the drones were pretty lacklustre in Tales of Magic. Zurg and Lion King were decent but other than that I don't remember much else standing out? I had wondered if the 'more pyro' version that was seen testing...

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

I'd expect DLP D23 announcements to be limited to the 35th anniversary entertainment and updates to the ongoing Disney Village and hotel refurbishment programmes.

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

I think it's very unlikely. Assuming Lion King opens in 2028 (which is optimistic) the next land expansion may be at a similar state to Lion King is now, so a hole in the ground. Assuming the third land follow Lion King as opposed to an alternative expansion like Avengers or Disneyland Park.
