My family are big fans of Race Through New York and enjoy the whole experience e.g. pre-show, watching the TV clips and the ride itself.
It's different to anything else I can think of (I know fundamentally it's still a screen simulator) but it's fun and not to be taken too seriously.
I experienced this in May and I really enjoyed it.
It's not particularly long but it does immerse you and at times you feel as though you're in a real shoot out as you try to avoid Stormtroopers.
Definitely recommend trying it, I'll be doing this again on my next trip.
My wife and I rode this a few weeks ago and I went with an open mind despite the negative reviews.
Unfortunately it was probably the worst ride experience I can remember since Stitch at MK. We were both completely underwhelmed and disappointed with the third rate graphics and boring story line...
We visited DHS last year on May 4th and it was a lot busier than usual.
Lots of people dressed up in their Star Wars outfits which made it interesting to watch but the lines were busy so this year we are heading to AK.
If you like Star Wars then I'd say go and enjoy the atmosphere but if not...
In no particular order:
1. Stitch (oh how I miss Alien Encounter)
2. Ellen (a shorter version would have been more appealing)
3. Speedway (only because the space could be used for something better and it's now looking dated)
4. Circle of Life
5. Dinoland (never understood how this was a 'fit'...
For me Typhoon wins everytime - it feels like the closest you can be to the Carribbean without actually being there.
Blizzard is great for slides (which I love) but Typhoon just feels like paradise.
First trip was our honeymoon in 1989.
There was then a big gap until our next visit in 2001 while we had children and saved some money.
Ironically our daughter and son both proposed / were proposed too in front of the castle and had their subsequent honeymoons in WDW - 2013 and last month...
Alien Encounter for me!
My children were terrified at the time and came away crying (they were 11 & 9), however, to this day they still talk 'fondly' about the ride!!
