Considering the shameful state that most rides marked for death are left in, the extra maintenance here is greatly appreciated. Kudos to whoever made that call.
Very well-said, thank you. In my opinion, Frontierland is such an interesting, complex, and valuable piece of Americana because it reflects the tension between romantic Western fantasies and the not-so-pleasant reality. It is fascinating to read how, for example, the narration on Disneyland's...
Nah, not my main concern. I just thought it was annoying that they glibly referenced one of the most infamous broken theme park effects of all time without offering a fix. Shame on me for briefly hoping for a nice thing, I guess?
The yeti references gave me hope that Joe Rohde managed to negotiate a fix as a condition of returning on a consulting basis.
But nope, turns out to be just a tasteless joke at the audience's expense. Trashy.
Villains Land could be such a breath of fresh air if they're allowed to get crazy with it. Please let it be just a little dark and spooky. Something with the tone of Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour would be wonderful.
So I guess it's up to insiders to disclose the fate of the Muppets and Rivers of America.... I really can't get excited for either expansion without that knowledge. Losing Dinosaur is sad enough... it is really the only scary dark ride left in Disney World.
It's just one of many careless things in this ride but... why does ride-Louis think that the best musicians are from the bayou when his entire motivation in the movie was to leave the bayou so that he could play with the greats in New Orleans?
I would ask if these self-proclaimed great...
If there's a silver lining to this disappointment: there has been more good-faith criticism of TBA in one day than there has been in the years since it was announced.
I'm really confused about the soundtrack.... Disney released a whole video and multiple press releases gassing themselves up about all the new music, how it was so well thought-out for the "storytelling" and "immersion," etc.
All of this great new music must be in the queue or something...
Ah, so there is more to the mystery after all!
Nice to see this thread revived in the wake of the ride's imminent closure, poor ol' Dinosaur never got the respect it deserves. There's something magical to me about attractions with things hidden in the dark.
To be honest, I feel like a land inspired by dazzling animal art could be a great addition to Animal Kingdom's exploration of the relationship between people and animals. I have zero confidence that Disney would pursue this angle, though.
