New Tomorrowland @ Disneyland? Is this the year it finally gets announced? No, and that’s OK

If “America Sings” could fit at Tomorrowland then I guess Inside Out could. It at least has Googie sensibility.

News New documentary film 'Disneyland Handcrafted' coming this winter

The film is astonishing. It's an excellent example of how to create suspense even when every knows it all turns out right in the end.

Rumor Space Mountain: De La Terre à La Lune Returning?

Just remove the Star Wars elements and bring back the original music! You don't even need to bring back the original set pieces, I just want to eliminate the cognitive dissonance of seeing "rebel ships" launch via a canon from the 1800's.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

I actually think Rian steered the franchise back to Lucas' intentions that the Sequel Trilogy has a hermit Luke disillusioned by the hubris of the Jedi Order. I do think the B & C plots (Rose/Finn and Holdo/Poe) are tedious bores on repeat viewings. But the Luke/Rey/Kylo stuff is excellent.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

I have a theory that they were (are?) planning to add the Star Tours droids to the garage at Millennium Falcon. That is the one place that I agree feels unnaturally dead.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Unpopular Opinion: The “Lack of Kinetic Energy” problem is overdone. One of my favorite places growing up with Disney parks was the Morocco pavilion at Epcot. My brother and I would play hide and seek tag there. Galaxy’s Edge captures some of that, but much larger, and if you happen to have...

News New documentary film 'Disneyland Handcrafted' coming this winter

When one considers the state of the opening day attractions (especially in FL and TL) you better understand that Disney got their reputation for “revolutionizing amusement parks” mainly on the backs of Main Street, the Hub entrances, Jungle Cruise, and the Mark Twain. EDIT: Oh, and Peter...

The article says both will be heard in the entries.

Yeah, I hope they don't overcorrect here. I hope they are being thoughtful about this.

I see what you mean. Maybe keep the etherial sounds for the Bayou-to-Rise transition but use Williams in the more "cinematic" Frontierland entryways? I think the Star Wars Main Theme wouldn't clash too badly with Big Thunder Trail.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

It will be interesting to see what they do. I doubt they'll want to eliminate all the ambient sound moments you hear in the village. But I suspect they really are going to change the vibe of entering and exiting the tunnels. While I appreciate the soothing, mysterious sounds, I think I'd...

New Tomorrowland @ Disneyland? Is this the year it finally gets announced? No, and that’s OK

I'd also like to point out that when I was young, I was able to ride the PeopleMover with my grandma. And she was COMFORTABLE, she could reposition her legs if they were aching, stretch a little if she wanted. You can't do that with super restrictive coaster seating. Even if an old person...

New Tomorrowland @ Disneyland? Is this the year it finally gets announced? No, and that’s OK

I also rode it plenty of times, and it was one of my top 5 rides in the park, so to each his own. There are plenty of kids from automobile dominated cities that have no rail systems that would love to have time on a train. Any train, modern or old fashioned. There is something soothing about...
