RnRC has had extended downtime the past few years. I totally understand WDI deciding that the longest transformation will be that pre-show area, so they shut it down early to begin working on it so that HS doesn't drop even more capacity for six to eight months. Realistically, the launch area...

For a family with young kids? They'll hang out at Conservation Station for 15-20 minutes, plus the ride there and back, plus the petting zoo. A lot of people don't even go to Planet Watch, this will get them out there. I think those families could find an hour of their day eaten up going out there.

My guess is it'll move at one point, they're just trying to give families a bigger reason to visit AK (and spread the crowds out who are there) while construction is happening.
