While I agree that at first this move seems really counter-intuitive to the park's new "high concept" (being a bit generous calling it that), I honestly don't think it makes the park feel less cohesive. If the park was entirely "enter the worlds of films" then there would be no glue to hold the...
These photos give a great sense of the scale for this project, just look at how small the castle looks in that last picture! I'd have to imagine that the land being remediated for laydown yards now could be used as true expansion space in the future.
I know this likely doesn't imply anything at all on the space's future but I get a good chuckle reading this as, "Look at the pretty office building we have! We don't want to expand the park here. 😣"
As a heads up, Disney has said that filming and photography are encouraged during cast previews, so we should see full POVs dropping as early as Friday the 27th.
An incredibly misleading time for Spikes to post this, these are the former seats removed when the the seats were replaced a few years ago. The current seats are still in the theatre for the final performance, and will likely remain for the show's replacement.
I'd argue LMA and the Backlot Tour were major attractions that weren't terribly dated when they closed, featured impressive pyrotechnics/special effects, and they still moved significant amounts of people with generally positive feedback. Both closed due to having high operational cost and...
While I understand your argument that it's hard to quantify how much of a "net gain" certain replacements are due to the differing scales of attractions, it's really disingenuous to say SWGE replaced "flower pots." Streets of America was a major section of the park containing two major special...
Got to say my farewells to the show one final time last night. It truly was a comedic treasure and had maybe the wittiest writing of any theme park attraction of all time. I don't know if we'll ever see anything quite like it again, the dynamic nature of animatronics and effects surrounding all...
This is blatantly untrue. Muppet*Vision's theatre is being repurposed for a new show themed to Monsters Inc., in addition to the land and coaster. The show has not been scrapped and is in active development.
I haven't really seen it talked about much anywhere, but the music loop outside of the Super Nintendo World portal in Celestial Park is a rendition of the track Gusty Garden Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy. It's a strong contender for my favorite piece of theme park music of all time now...
While I dislike the look of the nets, I do think that the coaster track itself isn't an issue, it makes for good kinetics and is tucked between trees. It would look just fine and no more out of place than Hagrid's or Hiccup's if they could remove/scale back the netting with a different loose...
I was fortunate enough to attend a preview on Friday the 11th and have since taken the time to gather my thoughts! I won't get too deep into attraction spoilers, just general impressions, so if you'd like to hear my musings then read on.
This park is indeed a triumph. The world class...
