I listened to Rob’s Q+A podcast. He did talk about 51 and 52 being pivotal. It worth a full listen. Rob knows they’re never leaving Fiji, but try to mix things up. Go back to 2 tribes, bring back themed seasons, change the casting process. Seems like Jeff is trying to bring his cancelled talk...

Kristina summed up the new era of Survivor perfectly: “I’m here for the journey and experience” But, it was good to hear yellow Sophie say she wants the money.

I haven’t seen the spoilers for who the two people are, but based on the edit it’s becoming obvious

I do not know who the two players from 49 that are on 50, but I think we’re getting an edit that is trying to justify, or show, why these two have been selected.

100% correct about the edit. Suddenly Sophie is a mean girl and has to be voted out? When did we see that? Season 49 just seems “off”. I keep waiting for it to kick into a higher gear like Jeff said it would.

I’ve also noticed that the producers are doing something that happens in Big Brother. The players will read the directions for something (eg. looking for keys to open a box) and then they will immediately cut to a confessional of a player, or multiple players, saying exactly the same thing...

They went to tribal around 9:15 and I was thinking that it doesn’t leave a lot of room for discussion. Producers had the opportunity to ditch the “earn the merge meal” and they didn’t.

Looks like they’re going to do another tribe swap next week.

I would have preferred they kept the yellow and red tribes together and had Alex and Sophie pick red or yellow. By doing the “drop your buffs” swap it lead to easy targets if either tribe won. Rob and a Stephen had a good discussion about this on RHAP Know it Alls.
