2026 Annual Dues posted, up to 9% increase for resorts

When we purchased in 2007 the sale pitch was it took about 7 years. That would be 1 stay each year for 5 days / 6 nights in a savanna room. Our points were bought at 95 each. With today's average at around 240 (yikes!) at say the Poly, and staying in a theme park water view, it would be about...

2026 Annual Dues posted, up to 9% increase for resorts

We bought in 2007 and have been going every year since. Even twice a year the last 2 years. We used to spend $3000 or more for the resort room stay every year. Now we only have the yearly annual dues (of which are about $1100 a year now for the number of points we own). Our initial cost was...

    Room Requests?

I did my check-in and noticed too that it no longer asked location for our room (I always asked near the lobby). Checked both the app and the website and it's no longer there.

september is supposed to be a 'slow month'.. why is Pop sold out..

Just did a little checking around for the last two weeks in September, and I don't see any for Pop for those two weeks (for a full week stay). However, there are plenty at the All Star Resorts. Also, the website does say that the Pop is undergoing renovations on the rooms and lobby at that...

    New dining ideas

Definitely give it another shot. I've eaten at most of the buffets at WDW, and Boma is by far the best. The Breakfast is better than Dinner in my opinion, but both are good. You need to make sure to do the African foods on the right end of the buffet. That's where it really shines.

I am doing the math right?

I think I spotted a error on your purchase math. The current rate for a Poly point is $235 I think. So 160 points is $37,600+closing cost. The number of years left of the hotel contracts don't matter I believe. So your original number seem OK. And from my experience with our AKL points, the...

    New dining ideas

Toledo, Topolino's, and Tiffins all come to mind. Jiko, Steakhouse 71, and Narcoossees are also good choices. And of course, you could go high end with Victoria & Alberts or Monsieur Paul's among others. 😋

Top 10 favorite rides PAST and present

Yes, great tour. We didn't have any brushes with celebrities, but we did get to see the Mission Space pods being built at that time. And our group was a little odd. Myself and DW, plus one other family with 2 16-year-olds (Disney only allowed 16+ on the tour at the time), and the rest of the...

Top 10 favorite rides PAST and present

Unfourtunatly, no they don't offer it anymore. That was a great tour, very long day, but a great tour. The tour of the shops (costumes/Christmas/wood/metal/Horticulture/etc.) backstage was fantastic too, along with the in-depth tours of how some of the rides/shows worked at MK, Epcot, and HS.

is it worth staying on property

Last time we stayed off site was in the late 80s/early 90s. We had drove down to WDW. The car broke down at the hotel in Orlando, and we lost at least a day+ in the parks because I had to get the car fixed and it was in a shop. Never again. If we had stayed on property, we could have been in...

Yea, it's the pre-show and the queue that I miss the most. That crash test dummies queue was fantastic.

    Recommendations for a character meal

I'd say Topolino's for breakfast. The tables are more spread out, so it's not at much a screaming kids thing like Chef Mickey's is. Plus, you get a better breakfast there than the normal staple foods. We are trying the new 1900 Park Fare on our next trip. I've heard good things for that one too.

Which Disney World 4D Show is/was the Best?

Would you consider Alien Encounter/Stitch a 4D show? If so AE would be my top choice. ;) No 3D glasses, but you get smells instead....and fake blood spattered on you...gotta count for something. :)
