MK SOFT OPENING WATCH - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Coaster

Thanks for all your responses. Was just curious more than anything else. I'm not sure safety is playing into the date so much since they had members of the press ride the attraction this past weekend. I just find the timing odd and wondered if anyone knew what the reason was for having the...

MK SOFT OPENING WATCH - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Coaster

Can someone explain to me how you have a ride dedication and press event/grand opening and the attraction not officially open immediately after. Was there a delay? Just curious why we have to wait until May 28th for this attraction to officially open?

PHOTOS - Disney breaks ground on cutting edge laundry facility to service resort expansion

I assume you only read the first 2 sentences of my post. :)

PHOTOS - Disney breaks ground on cutting edge laundry facility to service resort expansion

I guess the New Fantasyland and eventually the Avatarland costumes will use this facility since they said to accommodate the resort's expansion. Does 2 new lands really count as a Disney World resort expansion? I guess you could include the recently built resort hotels; i.e. AoA and the DVC...

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

I like the idea of this. It's looks great! However, the timing kind of stinks. During Spring Break season and into summer, and just after a price increase. Now you have to pay a premium to see walls, tarp, and a castle that doesn't looks it's best.

Ticket Price Increase - Feb 2014

This is not the response I hear from first time visitors. What I typically hear is why on earth would anyone go there to wait in those long lines? I felt like a herd of cattle. What's the draw, what's the allure of the place? That's what I typically hear. Not saying I share that opinion...

Ticket Price Increase - Feb 2014

Let's not forget that the Cast Member union has begun poking Disney Execs for a Cast Member raise. Do we really think Disney will pay for that. It's going to come from us. At the rate of price increases Disney Parks will be similar to attending a major sporting event; only affordable by...

    Jammin Jungle closing in June

Why is it that when new entertainment is announced old entertainment gets cut somewhere else? Or even worse, why is it when a new ride is built 2 shops and a restaurant have to go up next to it? If the goal is to pay for new entertainment and attractions with new shops, restaurants, and...

Disney and Universal: Two very different paths

It wasn't long ago when Comcast put in a bid to Disney to buy their North American theme parks (Can't remember the exact year). Disney sort of snickered at their offer....Comcast tried one more time and rebid....Again, Disney sort of snickered at their offer......Now Comcast has looked to...

DTD Third Parties Upset Over Parking

I seriously doubt AMC would pack up and leave. They just sank a ton of money in upgrading the theater to Fork and Screen. Walking away from that investment because of a short period of parking trouble doesn't make much sense at all.

    DAK Avatar 3D ride news

I've felt this way ever since Universal built Islands of Adventure.....It's just been continuing over the past decade.

Studio Backlot Tour to close for a near two month refurbishment in early 2014

Good point. It is a people eater and creates less wait times at popular attractions. I could see the day when this attraction becomes seasonal until they decided to green light another project to replace it. Or, in TDO talk, until they rasie enough money to green light another project.

    Universal to get $500 million

Just adding some light to this discussion. I haven't read through every post so if this was mentioned I apologize, but it was last October 2012 that Comcast approved 1.5 billion dollars to be invested into Universal Orlando. The 1.5 billion does not include the construction of their new resort...

Bye Bye Mickey...Disney is Ready for the New Generation (Yahoo Finance Article)

The CEO of Disney (no matter who it is) is responsible for performing a balancing act. He/She has to satisfy two groups who are on different sides of the spectrum; the stockholders and the customers (guests & fans). In my opinion I see Iger leaning more towards the stockholder side, but not...

Disney Springs Plans: What do they mean?

The real question is will Disney Springs address the lack of nightlife issue at Walt Disney World? It doesn't sound like it from the plans being discussed. One of the biggest guest issues at Disney World is what to do after the theme parks close. Guests need something more than to eat and...
