"It was a dark hot day in September, and the clocks were striking thirteen. @mickeyfan5534, his neck stretched out far in an effort to escape the scorching heat, slipped quickly through the glass doors of the Imagineer forum, though not quickly enough to prevent a swirl of pixie dust from entering along with him."

That's right folks! As one door closes, another one opens! But not without some changes. Team TMNT is out, Team Trademark™ is in. @TheOriginalTiki and I will continue to judge the fine members of our community in a new competition. 1986 is going to be a smaller competition, but one that will be just as creatively stimulating as So, You Want to be An Imagineer and Sorcerer's Apprentice. If you haven't figured out from the name, 1986 is inspired by Big Brother. And we seek to take that inspiration and make a better season of Big Brother than All Stars. On top of that, we'll be taking 1986 beyond even Sorcerer's Apprentice in terms of story with a fully voice-acted storyline unfolding through the rounds.

What to Expect

Big Brother-Inspired Gameplay
Competitors will be in a single house. Each week, two prompts will be given. First: The Head of Household. The household will work as a team, but one will be picked by the Judges to be the winner of this round. The winner will be given the role of Head of Household and nominate two contestants for eviction. That brings us to the second half of the round, The Power of Veto, which will always be related to the Head of Household prompt. Only six contestants will play this round: Head of Household, the two contestants up for eviction, and three contestants chosen via Random.org. All six will produce their own project for the prompt and the winner will receive the power to totally change the eviction nominations if they wish. That brings us to the final section of the round: each houseguest will choose who to evicted. The contestant with the most votes will be evicted from the house and eliminated from the competition.

No contestant can win Head of Household in consecutive rounds.

Creating A New Resort
A new resort? Yes! This competition is about building your own resort. Each round, the competitors will add a new piece to their resort, whether that be an entirely original land for their Castle Park, a grand hotel for guests to stay in, a new take on an entertainment district, or anything else Team Trademark™ thinks of. Each Head of Household prompt will see the competitors collaborating to begin this resort, but the Power of Veto prompts are the chosen six's chance to make their personal mark on the house's project. What will this resort look like? you may ask. Well, no Disney resort is complete without a Castle Park, of course, but you'll also be working on a second gate, hotels, shopping and dining, and more.

This Sounds Awesome! I Want to Sign Up!
Hold your horses! We all want a bit of a rest after the grand finale of So, You Want To Be An Imagineer. Sign-ups for 1986 will begin September 20 with a start date to be announced later.

@TheOriginalTiki and I are extremely excited about this new competition and we hope you are as well.
Remember, Team Trademark™ is watching.

This is the original 1984 game from years ago that Tiki had mentioned on the podcast, while it seems like this game will a tweaked setup compared to its predecessor it still might be good to look back on it for reference!

This is Big Brother, Day 60: 19.23 PM. The housemates are sitting around dribbling out their ears doing absolutely nothing, in this tepid TV series which somehow passes for entertainment. This so-called "experimental" programme, which has all the experimentation and creativity of Superstar Limo, stars the most desperate people from the British public trapped in a Six Flags version of the House of the Future, where they are kept in social isolation with each other like they are goldfish in a dentist's office (which offers much more engaging interactions), doing nothing but exist, whilst occasionally having conversations in a closet with a semi-patronising robot lady. They sit around talking about mush, occasionally get physical, or be utter abysmal in being human beings to each other. The protoplasmic, invertebrate jellies watching at home slowly lose their brain cells as the UK's most gloomiest commentator describes what is happening on screen with a voice slow sluggish, it would make Eeyore take up life counselling. The dying brain cells then vote out whoever is the least insane, until only one maniac is left in the asylum, and they win absolutely nothing beyond the rare appearance on a game show panel, or in a celebrity scandal TV special. All that, and it has the nerve to take its name from one of the most terrifying and thought-provoking villains in literature, turning it on its head to make a soulless, joyless, brain melting, soul destroying, anti-life equation of a TV series that is labelled as a documentary series.

...

Yeah, you can tell I hate Big Brother. This competition will be much better in every shape and form!!

Ooo! This sounds fun! I've never done one of these, so this will be interesting.

So, how do the teams get split up? Also with regards to design, what exactly to y'all do? Drawing? Talking?
@mickeyfan5534 and @TheOriginalTiki can explain further - but they'll make up the teams. Basically they will give us a project and we just brainstorm and communicate with each other here on the forum. Sometimes the project may be a solo one too. If you can draw that's great! (if you can't that's okay as well)

I think you'll enjoy it!

I'm not the host of this comp but I would lead you to first season of this game. Most of the projects have missing links and pictures since it was 5 years ago but you kinda get a feel of it:

And if you want more examples from different games, here are some recent ones:
