In times like these, when watching the news for 5-minutes can easily go toe-to-toe with reading Stephen King's more frightening works... I figured why not start a thread to highlight those (sadly too few) current news stories that actually bring us a much-needed smile, and remind us it's ok to laugh. Those still exist under all the craziness & uncertainty the world is facing right now. So share anything that brings you a bit of joy or laughter. Any bit of light or promise in an uncertain world. It doesn't have to be news per-say, even a personal story in your life you'd like to share.

For starters, this caught my eye the other day. Gotta admire this reporter's respect he gave to approaching wildlife. 😅

Unfortunately I can't seem to see any cute/funny news articles these days.
Its literally all Covid related things. Even the "aww" ones I see are about people having "birthday parades" etc due to Covid.

It's particularly important now while we are in Stay-At-Home mode. Hospital visits at Hasbro are limited to one adult, so it's awesome for kids to see that so many people care about them.

Kids answer back with their own flashlights - that always brings me to tears.

In addition to doing great things for kids who need a friend, your area up there also has hands-down the coolest judge on the bench.

The cause for this, as we all know, is nothing to smile about, but if there is any good coming from all this chaos we're currently facing, Mother Earth gets a breath of fresh air momentarily.

Southern California seeing major dips in air pollution, and residents are able to clearly see mountains from distances that were much too smogged-over this time last month.

Shared by @seascape earlier in the politics forum, but thought it's promising enough to fit in here.
If expectations hold true, this is good news for New Yorkers.
Governor Cuomo actually gave good news today. He said the State now expects to only need 37,000 ventilators not the 40,000 he previously said. Additionally, he said that was based on minimal compliance with Social Distancing. Plus if New Yorkers follow Social Distancing in a high rate the will only need 25,000 ventilators.

Another example of businesses stepping up to the plate in times of need:

We've seen acts like this from other companies in weeks prior.

I hope it doesn't scare them
