and it's already set in. It's hit me harder this trip than any I can remember. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that it was my son's (1.5 yrs old) 1st trip and he seemed to love it.

besides looking at pics what are some ways yall cope? i know some people start planning their next trip but the wife and I are planning to start trying for baby #2 so who knows when that next trip might be!

and of course posting here may help my Disney depression subside some!

I make sure we stop at The Confectionary or one of the other candy shops and stock up on Disney candy. That way we have some to slowly snack on until the next trip. We tried to bring back pretzels but they are only good the same day.
Reading trip reports is really helpful. Good luck getting over the depression. We are here for you!:)

To battle my Disney depression, I follow these message boards and other Disney facebook pages to keep me updated. I will occasionally look at the Shop Disney Parks app. I was a D23 member and looked forward to their quarterly magazine but we started having delivery problems after my recent move so I didn't renew this year (will next year though). Every other month, I get the Celebrations magazine on the Disney parks. I had fun creating printed albums of our trips and got to relive some memories. I'll listen to Disney music - the Animal Kingdom CD transports me right there. And the official park album always brings back great trip memories. And if it gets really bad, then I'll watch some of my recorded TV shows on the Disney parks or cruises. They are often shown on a few channels during "Disney Week" and I'm hoping they will have a special on the changes at Animal Kingdom or the re-imagined Wonder. I saw they are having a special this spring on Disney Weddings and Honeymoons though so I'm hoping that's not it for this year LOL. And if it starts to get really really bad, then I'll plan an imaginary trip...which often turns into a real trip :)

I feel your pain. We only get to go every 2-3 years and it sucks knowing that my trip goes so fast and then there I am again feeling lost in the the sucky real world with no trip in the near future. It hurt and hit me really hard after my trip last month. I start to feel the creeping dread around the 2nd to last day of "oh no it's ending soon and Disney Depression is coming in full form!"

I normally live most my waking hours (when possible) with the disney radio stations on (esp Sorcerer from 9pm-2am ET) because of the nighttime spectacular hour and then nighttime Disney makes me happy.

I also hang out here when possible and read Disney blogs, follow Disney sites on social media etc.

And plan my next trip...and pray that it will come before 2yrs!:angelic:

ps. I tend to think that this last trip the depression hit harder because we didn't have the ideal trip like we usually did. It was busier than predicted and we had a few bad luck experiences. :grumpy:

Dealing with the same thing myself right now. Just got back from our trip two weeks ago. Was also my son's first trip (1.5yo), and my daughters (4.5y/o) first to WDW (We did Disneyland with her at 2). I've been watching a lot of videos/pics from the trip and watching walkthrough park videos on Youtube. Listening to loop music as well.

Disney depression really doesn't set in for me until about 6 months to a year later. After 2 weeks I'm ready to leave, my feet hurt and back are killing me, I'm done with the heat and crowds and queing and having to pay extortionate amounts of money for bad food and just can't wait to get home.

When the depression sets in I come on here, watch youtube videos and look up news but that usually just makes it worse. To get rid of it I think of the heat, crowds and sore feet and I usually go through the booking process and then when I see the price at the end I snap out of it immediately. :in pain:

I'm just sad that my vacation is over and it's back to reality lol. I go to WDW because it's my wife's favorite place and every time we leave I get excited thinking about what non Disney trip we get to do next but some how that never happens and it's back to the mouse all the time...

I have Disney Days!

A Disney Day is a day I set aside (preferably a day I am not working) and I plan a few activities in town that remind me of the "World" and I also make sure to theme and even recreate meals and snacks that I enjoy in and out of the parks. All you need are some Disney recipes and a few places around your city/town that give you that feeling or bring you to that WDW frame of mind. One great easy way to do this is cooking up some Mickey shaped pancakes for breakfast go out for your activities and then go out to dinner or make your favorite dish from one of the restaurants and then end the day with a Disney Movie on the couch.

BTW you have to start the day by saying Hakuna Matata! Things are going to come up out of your control and you just have to brush them off and go with the flow! Thats how the Pixie Dust at home works for a Disney Day.

For us, we got burned out on our last set of trips. Three 1-week trips in an 8-month period made it less magical. We are about to start the cycle over. However, this time there is so much new that we will enjoy the multiple trips. When I miss Disney, I start to listen to Sorcerer radio.

Not for nothing, but Disney depression and going every few years is a good thing. I have been a DVC member since 2005 but have been going as an adult since 1997. I have been there sometimes twice a year. I have noticed a decline in services etc. Don't get me wrong, I still love the place. There are times though I feel that maybe burnout it setting in. I haven't burned out on DCL yet. That being said, the fact that you get depressed means it is a very special place for you. Don't lose that!
