On our way to Buffalo, I stopped at the bank to get some USD.
$800 USD cost $1073.52 CAD.

Ouch!
Let that be a lesson to you guys, eh! You have to back your money up with something other then Northern Loon feathers.

We're here! They let us in. :joyfull:

Homeland Security is slacking again.
No fair, I wanted to say that!

Minions. Again.
Which reminds me, I went to see Inside Out today. Very interesting movie. It seems that it affected different age groups differently. Real young ones saw just the comedy. Older people saw different things. My grandson (13) went with me. He has had problems since his family moved from Vermont. He really misses it there even though he was only 7 when they moved here. I think by watching him that the last few scenes really got to him. On the way out he said, no one said this was going to be sad. Me? I'm dead on the inside so the middle when joy and sadness were missing, made me feel right at home. Actually, I don't know how to explain it. It seems like this was the first movie I have ever really seen that lets one kind of see how emotions interact and the brain storage of memories. I know, not scientific, but, certainly understandable in a way. I did like the message that sadness sometimes has to take center stage in order to be revealed and to some extent healed. Whatever the message it was well done. Now for Lava... not even sure what the purpose of that was. Cute, catchy song, but, I don't know what the moral of it all was if there was any.

My daughter said the movie was "exhausting". I thought that was the perfect way to describe it.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Back in our room, moaning and groaning (and not in a good way!), in my jammies already.
As much as I over-ate, Hubby overdid it even more.
Here we go:

The table setting.

The kinda cool light above our table.

I liked how it reflected off my plate.

Bread service:

Apps. Lump crab cakes for me:

(Sooooo good. The lightly pickled vegetable slaw was divine.)

Hubby's gross calamari:

On the plus side, we were probably done smooching for the night anyway.

To be continued.

Mike's Caesar salad - avec croutons:

For me, the salad was the weakest part of a delicious meal. Not bad per se, just not a home run.

My entree - medium well steak w/garlic mashed:

Outstanding! Sadly, I ate less than half. :(

Hubby ordered the same, but paid $3 upcharge for the lobster mac and cheese. If I were the type to OMG, then that mac and cheese would have definitely warranted one! He ate it all, in case you were wondering.

Close up of the paper doily under the cup. Before I slopped it up. :joyfull:

We ordered dessert to go. Can't bear to even look at it long enough to unpack it, let alone photograph it.
One banana pudding something or other, and one creme brûlée, in honour of the day. You'll have to just take my word for it.

He salad looks too heavily dressed. The steak looks outstanding. Hubby's favourite ;) desserts are bananana pudding and creme brûlée. YUM.

When we were checking in, we walked past a nice car. "I'll have one of those", says I, like I do to every nice car I see.
Ummmm yeah, it was the owner Russell's car - a $200K Bentley. :joyfull: I do have exquisite taste.

If it's still there tomorrow when we check out tomorrow, I'll take a pic.
