Rode last Friday night during the 24 hr event and the wait was posted at 2 hours but it only took 45 minutes. This isn't the first time Disney has purposely posted longer wait times to promote popularity.

Looks like the first few wait times were guesses before the cards had time to get through the queue to get a more exact time. My guess is they are still trying to figure out estimates of wait times based on where people are at in the line, how quickly the line moves in relation to FP, etc.

At 2:20pm the MDE app lists it at 80 minutes.

(For comparison, other major attractions right now are Splash at 65, Space and Pan at 55 and Big Thunder at 40)

You're not factoring in fastpass+ is now in play...

Space Mountain had a 60 minute wait in 1995 BEFORE FastPass and the line was outside. CMs were told to hold back the line outdoors to make the wait look very long but it wS actually a 15 minute wait.

Looks like at 3:42pm its only 70 min... TSMM is only 75 and its been here for 8 years!

10:15pm, down to 40 minutes. The closest wait times elsewhere are 30 for Space and Pan. Everything else is 20 or less.

Mine Train is also in a park with A LOT more rides. TSMM is not only in a park with few rides, but few rides that the whole family can ride, which is why it's popularity has stayed.
