Best Beer at Epcot

Since my first over age non family Disney Trip is coming up so I'm probably going to spend some time in the World Showcase. I love trying different beers and don't want to waste my time or money on something that compares to bud lite, what's the best beer in your opinion and what should I stay away from?

is there even anything offered in WS that isn't just high volume off the shelf stuff?

you're probably better off with the mixed stuff. the beer offerings I've seen (stella, carlsberg, etc) are just the same stuff you can get at your local supermarket.

Guinness at the R&C Pub is my favorite and I can't get it everywhere I go.

If you enjoy trying different beers, I recommend the "beer flights" available at Biergarten, Rose & Crown, etc. The one at Biergarten used to come with a placemat describing each beer and the region from whence it came. I don't know if they still do that, but they're fun either way.

The German beer selection in pretty good. I would definitely hang around there the most if I was a big beer drinker.

Also, I would check out the site www.partythroughtheparks.com It tells you alot about the drinks in each party

Schoefferhoffer grapefruit is supposedly now available at the German pavilion q s. I just hope it's available in the Biergarten. Had it for the first time last year and loved it.

You can always try the combination beers at Rose & Crown.

Epcot doesn't have many unique beers, but the ones they have I really like. Altenmunster Oktoberfest (Germany), Carlsberg (Norway), Kirin (Japan), and Radeberger Pilsner (Germany) are the ones I usually get. They're nothing out of this world but I can't go a trip without getting them.

The Unibroue beers (La Fin Du Monde, Maudite, sometimes others) that are available in Le Cellier are (IMHO) the best beers on property certainly in terms of complexity of flavor and interest. The best part about the mass market beers that are found most places around the world is that you are getting them in Epcot. Rose and Crown is where my mind goes on those most unpleasant days in life. The Guinness or Carl's Combo I drink there is far superior to the exact same drink anywhere else.

If your trip is during F&W Festival, then things are quite different as options like Innis and Gunn and Rogue Chocolate Stout appear!

Had it in August at the Biergarten window. Do not know if it is available in restaurant. Good stuff.

Hmmm.Thats like asking the $$$$$$$$$$$ dollar question???....To be honest,everyone has their own favourites....This gives you a chance to experiment at Epcot and judge for yourself..

Biergarden it is, I eat they're almost every time I visit the world and it is my favorite country to visit there. I have never visited the rise crown so this will have to be my first.

The standard bar menu has Dogfish Head's 60-Minute IPA, which is arguably one of the best beers of its type on the market. I used to get it pretty often when I lived on the East Coast, but now that I'm out in Middle-of-Nowhere, America, it's one of the beers that I miss the most. Other than that, if you're looking for a unique flavor, the non-Food and Wine Fest selection is fairly scant, but you can find a winner here and there, you just have to know where to look.

For instance, I'm pretty sure you can find both Brooklyn Brewery's Pennant Ale and at least one selection from Ommegang in Il Mulino. Portobello and the Wave both have full flights of Orlando/Florida Brewing Company's selections. Old Key West and Olivia's feature Key West Sunset Ale. None of these are exactly small batch, but they are certainly a bit more regional than the conglomerate-backed stuff that is available everywhere you go on property. Just pay attention to the taps and menus in every lounge and restaurant you visit. One of them is bound to have at least one thing that piques your interest.

FYI - just found out that the Unibroue beers (Fin du Monde, Trois Pistoles, and Cherry Ephemere) are available on tap at a kiosk during Food and Wine Festival. Each are about 9% alcohol, extremely flavorful, and very rarely found on tap in the US. WINNER!

I found an app called Beers & Ears that lists more interesting beers than the above suggests. Nice app!

My favorite is moosehead light which is at the popcorn stand outside Canada. That is unless the food and wine fest is going on. This year they have sierra Nevada torpedo ipa and devils triangle ipa during the fest. Will be to enjoy them for last two days of fest this year. Favorite spot in DHS is high octane cafe. Lots of good choices. Otherwise you are very limited in non mainstream beers.

Very good advice from brifraz. The Trois-Pistoles and Fin du monde are both very good!

Getting the beer flights when available is good advice, then you can sample much more and then get a larger glass of the ones you like.

Hovels from Germany is pretty good. Had a pint or so of this with lunch at the Biergarten restaurant and would probably try it again.

Can't recommend the Casa beer at Morocco. It's a substandard pale lager

Tried it, and I can see it appealing to someone who doesn't normally like beer, but to me it tasted like 75% grapefruit soda and 25% hefeweizen.
Refreshing, I suppose, but at 2.5% you can barely call it a beer.
