Ok,enough is enough. All you lucky people going to Disney this year, counting down the days, checking your ADRS,running thro your park hours, etc, etc. But stop for a moment. What about us poor unfortunate souls ( pun intended ) that are not going to this magical land this year. So here's my quest. Altho I'am off to Andalusia in October.I'am gonna organise a Disney garden party, sometime in July. Now Ive hosted house parties in the past ( Disney themed ) Bit I'am looking for ideas for a garden one..Ive quite a large area and I can get a Gazebo for hire,so apart from having a BBQ,what other ideas can you suggest to make up for not visiting WDW this year.:(

Hatter, I think you are from Europe, right? Sorry of I have you confused...
Anyway, we tried going to a local Amusement Park here to make up for a non Disney year, Paramount's King's Island. The entire time DH and kept thinking what a better job Disney could have done with the place. Insteade it made us miss WDW more!
Your Garden Party sounds like fun, you could try to make park food for the guests. We have had luck with the BBQ rub from Flame Tree and The Chocolate Wave Cake from The Coral Reef.

Hello! As soon as our children can handle us being gone for a spell we are dying to see Scotland and Ireland. My parents spent a month touring and exploring and fell in love with both areas. Mom felt like Scotland had some similarities to our home State, Kentucky. We do get more sun and longer, much hotter summers but I guess the land topography is similar. She also stressed you all are so kind and never did she and Dad feel like "stupid Americans" while visiting like they did in Italy.
Anyway, hope the time flies until you next trip...we have 23 days before a one day WDW trip and then a beach stay. Will send you some pixie dust:)

Morning Hatter!!:) How about using the Flower and Garden show at Epcot as an example. It was just beautiful!! Lots of big flowerpots filled with flowers. You could make a small water fountain very easily using a small pump and a big ceramic pot. Then, leave it in your yard forever. Have some cool, tropical drinks and fruit kabobs for starters. OOH, just send me a ticket and I'll come over and help you guys plan!!:p
