I’m not a hater! Flat rides/spinners are fine, and this might be the best one ever. But they’ve become ubiquitous and I think Disney can (and has done) better.

Maybe then? Best I can find, Cosmic Rewind tracks began arriving around January of 2019, and that opened just over 3 years later. If you factor in Covid, maybe it could have been 2.5 years? Maybe this is slightly smaller scale, so 2 years.

Cosmic Rewind was also built a bit differently. They built the building and then put the track in. By all accounts they will do track and then building around with this one.

Just re-watched Monsters University and Monsters Inc.

I like both movies, but the first is an actual masterpiece. I didn't realize Pete Doctor didn't write it and Andrew Stanton did instead.

I'm even more excited for both Toy Story 5 and the Door Coaster now.

Like you just watch the movie and when that whole set piece of the door warehouse starts, you literally immediately go to "THIS NEEDS TO BE A RIDE."

Villains, Monsters Inc. and Tropical Americas (IJA too) all being old concepts revived and expanded upon frankly make my confidence in those projects sky high.

All the nonsense with Galaxy's Edge or the EPCOT redo I just feel like is absent.

This era feels like Pandora 1.0, but with more clarity my TWDC. Makes me happy.

I will say Monsters University could truly support its own land Potter style. If they ever decided to expand beyond the Door Coaster to the left into the parking lot it, it would totally make sense in the 2030s. It wouldn’t be a top priority for me, but it certainly could make sense if Monstropolis is as successful as I think it will be.

I think there is a balance there honestly. I’m not quite at @Pizza Moon “excitement” or at “boring”.

I remember from the movie that the streets of Monstropolis was interesting and alive, with odd monsters roaming around each corner. Harryhausens was a restaurant in the land that made it more interesting to me, We will see if they can pay that off. But It’s definitely a human-ize world thing which isn’t the most exciting so I get it.

Not directed at you but acting like Muppets Courtyard was this central masterpiece is also a straight sham. It’s got the same issues as Monstropolis.

Toy Story pizza planet
And then muppet theatre and company store along with the piggy fountain. Haha

Talk about a mixed land!

My guess Monstropolis will feel very similar to Zootopia and very playful.

Like you said, it all comes down to execution.

Both Galaxy’s Edge and Avengers Campus were not done right, Pandora and Cars Land were.

We’ll see! Many different ways to do a land. Epic has VERY different lands stylistically and they all work in their own way.

No reason to think Disney won’t be able to nail it, this is a concept that was revived for a reason.
