Lightning Lane Premier Pass

I love when my LL actually saves me time and I hate when I use the LL I paid for was a walk on anyway.

When it was free, it didn't matter, it hurts a little today.
And that’s fair

Anecdotal…son is 18 and was there all last week with senior trip and actually said “the lines were kinda fun…didn’t need fastpass”

To be fair…they were also short…tumbleweed kinda crowd for the most part. So propogating buying these things automatically is a waste of money…silly.

Did say that epic universe still can’t can’t handle people at all…which was our observation as well.

No you are not.....I'm whatever percent you say +infinity% confident that I am enjoying it more than you are.......Waiting in not enjoyable, that is a fact, not opinion

You do realize that there is a queue there for a reason, yes? And it is entirely possible that some people aren't ride commando's like yourself and could actually enjoy said queue for said ride? That ride and the queue are damn near perfect. But hey, you got to skip all that and got into the library in 3 minutes!!! And then... you'll wait in line in the boiler room, just like every other schmuck. I'm 1000% confident that I'm enjoying ToT far, far more than you are.

And if lines are too long on any given day? I've already done every ride/attraction in the parks dozens of times in my life. I'm usually there with friends at this point, and we can and will simply go do something else with our time. So while you spend a few hundred dollars extra on LL during your trip so you can skip all the queues and half the experience of most attractions, I'll spend that same money enjoying a drink, maybe a meal somewhere out of the parks, time with friends, et al.

I get to stay at my pool and hang and drink Mai Tais and go to the park much later and do all the rides in half the time while you wait in line........There was a study done by NASA that showed Mai Tais at the pool were recommended by 99 out of 100 dentists as opposed to waiting in line
Follow the science. 😉

I can agree with the mai tai angle…though I prefer bourbon like M…

But I don’t really wait in lines. No compulsion to do so…because it’s Been done for multiple decades. Which is why it seems a silly barometer to double pay for ride access - generally speaking - on a $150 average daily fee to access rides, restaurants and gift shops.

But not one size fits all - for sure. If you are seldom travel it’s more appealing I’m sure.

I think about it on a general day (which are low crowds most of the time): “what am I accomplishing with a line fee?”

Nothing really.

I’m just not invited to the party that talks about going to gated spots that were built with lines for the last 120+ years that shouldn’t have lines.

A lot of wasted bricks and rope…i guess? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I may be in the 32830 zip code later this year, but only for a few days. I heard there's a new park thing somewhere I should check out? But Disney park days? Mmm... not looking promising right now. One day is already spoken for.

It's good to state your experience with the parks when giving your opinion.

It makes sense that someone who has done every ride/attraction dozens of times won't feel the compulsion to wait in long lines or pay for line skips. There's always next time.

The argument that makes less sense (to me) is that people who visit once every few years shouldn't pay for line skips because theme parks should have lines. Unfortunately that advice is generally given by the people who are there more often than most.

When you try to give others advice based on your experience - that doesn't line up with theirs - you really can't be surprised that they decline, hopefully politely.

I agree. I also am of the opinion that paying for line skips on attractions you have ridden multiple times isn't worth the money

I'm more inclined to pay for the single Lightning lane for attractions that a new.

Why waste it on something like Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion or Peter Pan?

Even to this. Yea it can be annoying to pay for something you may not need but worse case you wasted $35 and you get to ride something more than once w no issues or adjust the time you. Lets face it also. When was last time every LL ride was a walk on during the day lol

Bolded is why I have been all for getting rid of LLMP. Keep the single use LL and Premier pass. Doing that LL becomes a 5-10 minute wait most times.

Disney won’t do that because of large parties staying multiple days.

Universal probably wouldn’t be able to either if Express Pass wasn’t given to so many of premier hotel guests free.

The grandparents and young kids who benefit most from line skips are more likely to visit Disney - in large groups and for a week or so.

I’m sure Disney knows its guest profile well enough.

Nope…

And again…nope

You’re confus-ed

The contention was always that the lines would move faster with no skips…which makes sense on the omnimover and large capacity rides. Does not mean there wouldn’t be lines. That can happen anyway if Bob…errr I mean…”Josh” raises prices three times this year…but that’s just hypothetical at this point.
I got an idea…a mixture of paid and complementary line skips for all…to account for the entire spectrum of preferences, entitlement, bad days, and acts of god that makes each person’s “story” distinctly their own.

It will be magic
There would be lines, of course, but there would be no real reality of having multiple hour waits in a single line. The slowest line now is in standby. Standby is occupied by people the either couldn't afford the breathtaking cost of LL or they didn't know about it. Also the fact that LL isn't available for all attractions it means that at some point in time everyone will be in a standby line. Before any form of Fastpass was shoved down our throats by Type A personalities, I don't ever remember a line more than 45 minutes long. Even if that wasn't always the case. It was self managed. If you walked up to an attraction that was over an hour you just walked on by and came back later when the line was smaller. Now due to nothing being any better as far as line time, you are forced to stand in the line because if you don't stick it out, you will probably not get to see it.

Every line, be it free standing or LL has a set amount of capacity. For the sake of conversations lets say an attraction has a capacity of 100 people per hour. If you stepped into one line that only had 100 people in it, you would be the 100th person to ride it. With more than one line whether it was Fastpass or whatever expensive name they give it, if you are in the 100 person line you now will be the 150th(?) or more person on the ride. You got there first and others that stopped and had a beer or two before even coming to the parks will be the last guy to cut ahead of you after and hour and a half wait.

95% (guess) of us were aware of the speeds of the old single lines. We could count on it, if we had to leave, use the restroom or had a meal reservation could, barring some breakdown, figure out easily if you had time to actually ride before whatever your need was. It worked well, people were never angry because it is what we expected. The only people that cut in front of us were doing so illegally and we had our own system for blocking that as well.

Fastpass of any name, made the whole experience a lot less enjoyable, unless you had the cash to make a massive leap in front of others that paid the same admittance fee as everyone else. After that was introduced the place was never the same to me. The original Fastpass wasn't charged for but it also had a limited number of them so it did require a lot more planning. I never went to WDW to work harder than I did when I was the one getting paid. The whole thing has become a social joke now and all the sheep have bought right into it, even knowing that those millions in profits are just being given to upper level executives. Like they had anything to do with any of the success of WDW. Over the last ten years they have been collecting massive amounts of money and all they did was just ride on Walt Disney worn coattails. I has taken something that I was, at one point, obsessed with and made me no longer even want to go anymore. I find that personally sad. What I do enjoy seeing is that, in spite of Disney denial, Universal has awoken the leadership and cause a ripple of panic in the Disney ranks, and maybe they will start to care once their cushy guaranteed massive income becomes negotiable.

Hint: you can always tell when danger is in the wind by seeing if big BoB decides to retire. He has a history of relinquishing his responsibility to others when he senses something negative in the air.

You keep saying this but omitting you’re using multiple skips to do it.

Be fair

Im confused what you are trying to say. Apologies. Do you think wait times go down that low if you stop selling LL service?
