They didn’t. CMs broadly were either indifferent to him or openly disliked him, especially in his second tenure. They were briefly excited to have him back after Chapek because they hated him more, but that doesn’t mean they loved Bob.

There were pockets that had a parasocial relationship with him as discussed earlier, but no in the overall Bob was not that popular with CMs. I encourage you to actually talk to some CMs once in awhile because every time you try and speak about them you miss the mark majorly.
I remember reading reports that there were CMs crying tears of joy the day he returned after the Chapek disaster. Not that that is really an endorsement.

This sounds good on paper…but I assure you it really doesn’t matter at all…

Who? The strawmen that lurking podders use to justify their their predetermined beliefs (49% of people on fansites)?

Or the”imagineers” that lurk and use vaguities to cope for their own disposable nature in the grand scheme (another 49% of people on fansites)?

Reports where? From who? This stuff right here’s the problem. You all just say anything or believe anything as long as it supports whatever arbitrary point you’re stuck on, and don’t bother a bit to actually go look for a real source or make any attempt to vet.

The conversation is about how CMs felt about Iger and Josh. So go ask a CM. Not rocket science.

But oh wait, you all won’t do that because then you don’t get to control your little narratives anymore.

I am friends with over a dozen CMs. Several people here know CMs. Hell, a few ARE CMs. You and your little gang love to talk about CMs all the time and are never, ever correct because you don’t care to actually hear from them.

Yeah, so them all fawning over him when he came back to rid them of the scourge of Chapek was just fake…right…

Which cast members? The ones that are getting paid less than Walmart associates? The ones who need government assistance to buy food? The ones who have to sleep in their cars because they can’t afford a place to live?

Most CM don’t have some weird obsession with the CEO of the company.

I Just wanna point out also that CEO Josh with his extra tight pants had a direct hand in making sure CM get paid the way they do…you know to make sure those quarterlies made Bob look good to his Wall Street buds.

For most cast members it’s just a job that needs to pay the bills. They could care less who the CEO is.
And yet they do care, because of all the reasons you stated.

Many, if not most did not like Bob Iger. They were glad he came back after Chapek because they hate him even more. I am sure some did adore Bob, but it’s been said multiple times now from all the CMs I’m friends with that that’s a fringe type of CM who is just in love with the company no matter what.

Again, stop talking about CMs and what they feel or think because you don’t know them and you don’t care to know them, you and your little band of trolls just love to talk about them when it’s convenient to whatever yarn you wanna spin.

Over a DOZEN?!!?

you have no idea what you’re suggesting…because if you did…you’d know that the opinions of front liners really doesn’t affect the management at all. They dropped the pretense about “the company” before you were born.

There are those in circles such as this that will make references to it mattering…but that’s nostalgia or naivety.

What else you got here? Employee opinion of a figurehead isn’t gonna move the needle one micrometer

Only a dozen? I’ve got you beat you then. Active FT, PT, CP, and retired. Some of them now for over a decade. One thing most of them agree on is that under Bob and Josh, it hasn’t gotten better for them, especially when everyone is being conned to think the company is doing so well.

So just stop your nonsense.

How dare you insult such quality inside sources - over a dozen bus drivers and parade route managers pulling up masking tape post-parade? Sounds like solid information to me about the opinions of 80,000+ CMs just in WDW alone. Now, if someone got chummy with over a dozen janitorial staff, we could then joke about the quality of their information.

I hope it’s not ended. It’s probably very expensive.

To be clear, corporate CEOs, let alone ones with Disney, care about the following in this order:
1) Board of Directors
2) “Wall Street” (eg stock market performance, large institutional houses)
3) Industry partners
4) Media / trade institutions
5) National / state leaders where also doing business (may be higher TBH)
6) Pavilion sponsors
7) White whale clients (the type that rent out parks for a night)
8) White whale guests

After that, CM and regular guest considerations are paid attention to.

And that’s why last week was bad (I’ve been holding my tongue as much as possible 😎)…

Some things are outside the normal parameters. While “most business” can all be tossed in a blender and come out looking the same there are those that Have a unique spot meant for them.

I say it all the time about Star Wars (tangent)…and the evidence has continued to pile in on that case

Well…Disney is a unicorn…it has always been. It has direct competitors - now more than ever - but it is the lone one with an entire century of addictive emotional attachment that people can’t separate themselves from in its corner…

So while your list is 100% true…it’s a Mistake to operate that way…for them

Which is why you have talk directly to thE CUSTOMERS first. Even if you don’t mean it at all…which none of these guys do…you have to. They’re eroding their pull.

Joshie poo failed the sniff test right out of the gate.

The bobs were painfully incapable of talking to the customers with any sincerity at all. Just terrible. When you think you’re Steve Jobs and yet come off as far less personable and a way worse salesman?…you’re lost.

Well talking to random investors and kissing bobs 2.5 feet off the ground keister as your “intro” is about as bad as you could Draw it up

While I wasn’t his biggest fan (large critic actually😂), his parks contribution with Shanghai Disneyland, California Adventure’s redo, the Disney Dream/Fantasy Disney Cruise Line cruise ships, and Pandora: The World of Avatar were nothing short of extraordinary, so I’ll always be thankful to him for leading and approving them.
