First I’ve heard also … just imagining an in the park hotel (I.e. Fantasy Springs) at Magic Kingdom sends a shiver down my spine … they would charge soooo much 😭

Strategically it would make more sense to look towards Epcot/DHS area for the next DVC. I think a phase 2 Riviera with a cash component would be the most likely next thing.

Posters here - "We need to get guests into other parks, MK is overloaded!"

Also posters here - "MK needs more plus a few hotels!"

Make it make sense. Please.

The first statement has proven largely unrealistic, hence the need for expansion of MK itself (well, they could also re-open shuttered venues, but you get the idea). What is actually needed is capacity at MK commensurate with the uptick in attendance since it opened.

There’s a clear difference between speculating on what the company will do and what we all personally want them to do.

Though it’s a Venn diagram, a chunk of us have merely noted the probable intentions of the Floridian Way re-routing. How that relates to this magic kingdom project and possible hotel desires. I personally don’t think it’s the laydown yards, but immediately north of Grand Flo that the rerouting seems designed around.

Lakeshore Lodge seems counter to any real immediacy in the MK area, though.

Personally have the opinion each Disney park should have its own hotel. DCA and DL do, and AK does. Also feel DHS EP and MK all lend themselves to their own personal hotel. IMO

You know what would really work?

A Star Wars hotel next to DHS.

A real Deluxe resort with 300 rooms, Coruscant-themed restaurant with character dining, Mos Eisley-inspired lounge for adult beverages, Kamino-themed pool, PeopleMover service to DHS’ west side (Galaxy's Edge), buses to Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom.

None of the $1400 per person costume party nonsense.

I've not heard anything about that specific hotel.

The last similar thing I heard - in fall 2025 - was that Imagineering was revisiting EPCOT for a front-of-the-park hotel where the current bus stops are. That got revived as a reaction to Epic Universe opening Helios.

My sense is that those are "one chance to get this right" projects, so high risk/high reward. Those probably move very, very slowly.

I think a hotel directly connected to a park is inevitable. It's a really markatable perk that they can charge extra for.

Are you under the impression that the Disneyland Hotel is right next to Disneyland? Even the monorail connection was severed over 25 years ago when they tore down the original buildings. Or is this just about sharing a name?
