Trip Report The Redemption Tour

Good morning, everyone! It’s time for me to share another trip report 🥳

I was in Disney from 11/16-11/23 and had the best time!

A quick little refresher, my name is Jillian, I am married and have two girls, Sage is almost 15 and Aria is 10. My husband has tolerated many family Disney trips throughout the years but after our last family trip in March 2023, he decided he didn’t need to go anymore 👎🏼

Disney is my one true love so this was not an option for me. I knew I wouldn’t be able to take my kids alone, they have much different interests and just don’t get along that well. So I decided to take them separately.

Sage and I went last August. Overall the trip was good but Sage did not handle the heat & humidity well at all. She was overall very grouchy and whiny. We did attend the Halloween party while we were there and some of you may remember it was an absolute disaster. It down poured, thundered & lightning the entire night. So much was closed and cancelled and we were so disappointed. That was Sage’s first party experience and only my second.

My plan for 2025 was to take Aria in November so we could do the Christmas party. Unfortunately about a week before we were set to leave, we had to make a drastic decision. Aria has been having some very extreme behavior and mental health struggles lately. She’s been to many doctors, she’s been tested, she has a diagnosis but despite all our efforts, things have just been really really difficult. I did apply for DAS for her but was denied. So at the last minute, we just decided it was not a good time for her and I to travel alone together. I promised her I would take her at some point in the future when our situation had improved. My husband suggested I go alone (which I would have loved) but I ultimately decided to take Sage with me. First of all, I knew it would be easier on my husband to not be a personal Uber driver to two kids on his own. But also, I truly felt like Sage deserved another trip. She has grown up and matured quite a bit in the last year, she has a small part time job and she’s doing really well in school. I wanted her to know her actions were seen and being rewarded. And I also wanted Aria to realize that special things are a privilege and not a right.

So long story short, it was time for mom and Sage- The Redemption Tour 😎

Here’s a picture of us from our last trip in August 2024 ⬇️

It was time for our first lightning lane of the day, Toy Story Mania. We booked Runaway Railway after tapping in.
We also did Alien Swirling Saucers standby.

Then we made our way to Hollywood and Vine for breakfast. I booked us the Fantasmic Dining Package.
This breakfast was amazing, it was everything that 1900 Park Fare wasn’t.
Our server was kind and attentive, the food was great, the characters took their time with us. My one and only complaint was that there was no character attendant so I had to keep asking the table next to us to take our picture. I hate that.
But overall 10 out of 10 breakfast. We loved it so much! And yes, Sage got ice cream with her breakfast 😂

Next was our Runaway Railway LL!

For some reason we were in this room for a long time so we were looking for all the hidden Mickey’s.

I love this ride! ❤️

Sage wanted to ride Rise so we decided to do single rider. So quick and I definitely don’t mind missing the preshows.

We had some time until our next lightning lanes so we got a snack from Gertie.

So good!

Sage’s next LL was for Indiana Jones and mine was for Frozen. I didn’t want to see Indiana Jones and she didn’t want to see Frozen so it worked out perfectly.
I had a few extra minutes until my show so I was roaming a bit and found Pinocchio!

I don’t have any pictures from what we did next. Sage wanted to do single rider on Rise again and she also wanted to do Star Tours. I really didn’t want to do either so I just sat and chilled. I was definitely feeling the final day fatigue.

Then it was time for Fantasmic! My favorite Disney nighttime show 💙 We were in the 2nd row, center thanks to our dining package tickets.

This was a Jollywood night so we were ushered straight out of the park.
Overall, our DHS day was pretty perfect. We did almost everything we wanted to. The only thing we didn’t have time for was the Beauty and the Beast show. It was such a great day though. The perfect mix of doing a lot and taking our time.

We were starving by this point and Sage requested dinner at the Pop food court so she could get the tie dye cheesecake.
The Pop tree was up! We never got to see the AoA tree.

No pictures of our actual dinners but the desserts were so cute! And yummy.

So that’s the end of our trip! Overall it was so amazing. We genuinely had the best time. Sage has grown up and matured so much since our trip in August 2024.
It definitely helped that the weather was better too. The high each day was between 77 and 85 but it was a slow climb to the peak temperature each day. The mornings and evenings were so much cooler. Perfect weather. I would go again this exact week in a heartbeat.

And speaking of going back, I have no clue when that will be. I just paid off the last of the credit card bills from this trip and I’m still paying for a Disney cruise my mom and I are doing in April 2026. So any trip to WDW likely won’t be until 2027. I would love to do another solo trip.
I’m not sure when I’m going to take Aria. She needs to prove she can have better control of herself and I really just want to wait until she’s older and easier to handle.

Thanks so much for following along!!

Did our park days overlap at all?
We were at the Christmas party the same night. You absolutely made the best decision to do a ride after the parade, we tried to leave straight after and it was crazy. Then we were at Disney Springs the next morning as well.

The weather that week was probably the most perfect I’ve ever had there, and I’ve been at pretty much every time of year.

So happy for you that you got a do over trip with Sage, it looks like you had the best time. Hopefully you get a trip with Aria in the not too distant future.

Which ship are you on next year? Would love a cruise trip report

We will be on the Wish! 4 nights, stopping in Nassau and at Castaway. This will be my second Disney cruise but my mom’s first cruise ever. We are so excited!

I was floored when you posted this picture! I have no idea where you took this picture, but I have the same one. Joe bought it for me one year for Christmas. It's in my laundry room ☺️

Aw! I love it. On Sunset Boulevard there is a faux movie theater. The picture is behind the ticket window.
