MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

Villains Land needs to be big....and the other part of that is, will Piston Peak suffer by being smaller....If it is basically just the size of TSI's footprint without the Fort, will it actually be a large enough area to make sense? Or will it really be the out-of-place sore thumb that has nothing to do with anything, dropped between Villains and Frontierland?

There's no current depression where the "river" (aka circular pond) was located, its been filled in so if anything its a vacant lot with dirt being pushed about.

it’s depressing to discuss what we see now -

Drained river
Missing historic railroad bridge
Missing railroad tracks
Pile of dirt
Missing totem poles

A question i have is - do they actually know what they are building yet? Or is this just preparing the site for future construction?
Define “know”. A project that has finished Concept Design is rather defined. It has to be because it informs the later design phases that end with the final design drawings used for construction and production.

I sincerely do not think they know what they are building yet. Just ideas.

Look at celebration gardens in EPCOT. What we got WAS NOT what they thought they was going to build.

Yes, when something economically unexpected happens and they announce major cuts, projects will change significantly. What that has to do with this project at this point is unclear, so I don't know why you're bringing it up other than to continue being endlessly negative.

You call it negative. I call it business. Disney theme parks are a business. They will make scope cuts as needed to complete a project with the money allocated.

Lets see what we end up with years and years from now when it opens for previews.

Which recent project is a shining example of what we can hope for? :)

It has not, in fact, been filled.

Looks like there is zero channel here to me, but what do I know?

Nothing has been filled in. You are looking at what is essentially the bottom of the former river bed. You can clearly see the sloping sides of the riverbed along the top and the seawalls still in place down to the riverbed around the former riverboat dock.

Did you forget that the channel sides and bottom were concrete slabs ?

Not exactly. And what’s your point? You can clearly see that some of these slabs are still in place such as along the HM queue canopy and in front of the old Keelboat dock.

Regardless nothing has been filled in. The ground level you see in these photos is the level of the river bottom.
