MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

i made no mention of a berm, +24m is far from unprecedented - the tunnel at contemporary is 5 metres lower than that
I didn’t say the depth is an issue. It would be a lot easier and cheaper to grade everything to support tunnels now, essentially putting the guest level close to or a little lower than the bottom of the river, instead of first building obstacles in the way (filling the river, the new ditch and the new storm lines).

Simple to cross: You build a Villains station. Then, to cross to the other side of the berm, you get into the Train from the right at the Frontierland station, and then get off to the left at the Villains Land station!!!
I suggested a while back that would be a great place. I just wonder how it will work creating a pathway with the new BTM maintenance barn where it is, but ideally two crossings to get a better flow of people would be ideal
Thank you for the extra perspectives @tommyhawkins & @lazyboy97o I also just had a chance to read the "Cars and Villains" article🏆
Glad you liked it.

By the way, a friend sent me a much better copy of the architectural artwork after i lost mine and the geysers are clear as day on there, maybe this is a stupid question but did people think those features were new to the vector fun map, ergo.....that area would replace the B ticket?

Question for anyone that is knowledgeable on construction- how long after the demo is complete will things start to go vertical? What kind of infrastructure has to be installed before that point?

Not an expert but there's a lot of infrastructure that needs to be added. Water, sewer, storm water drainage, gas, and electrical.

The land itself needs to be graded so it's going to be a long while before we see anything vertical.

There the stormwater drainage that was documented in the recent water management permit. There will also be other utilities like power, fresh water and sewage that will have to be provided for the area. Also things like chilled water and compressed air could be provided.

They’re also filling in the river. That’s going to take some time as the soil is hauled in, filled and made suitable for building.

I mean didn’t you see it turn green? Green fire is really only associated with one character. I would assume that’s what it’s for.
My thoughts too, just seemed odd they'd censor the project when talking about the flame effect? It does make me think Villains is further along in development than that one piece of concept art seemed to reflect (that was very vague and very blue sky)

Lots of interesting stuff in that video:

1. Looks like they are going to preserve some of the trees and "rock" features of Sawyer's Island for Piston Peak (I think it's sorta cool if something stays behind)

2. It looks they have cleared the back island and area as well, which is interesting, since that is clearly for Villains land. Concurrent construction makes all the sense in the world and it looks like they will doing so, at least perhaps for things like water, utility, etc. (I know we saw the storm drain plans).

3. Also looks like they cleared some of the BBTM area -- I forget whether that area was already identified for laydown yard area (but I thought it was further away than that). It at least let's me fantasize they will be the show building for the coaster or other ride on the OTHER side of the RR tracks, thereby preserving more of the former river/ island area for the land itself to walk around.)

1. I think they are just currently focusing on the structures and will eventually clear all of it.

Aerial video from bioreconstruct:

Looking at the spot at 51 seconds and with no first hand proof, this is what I see. The weird S path cleared on the front "island" I would say that leaving the trees there had no real purpose if they were going to take them out later. It does, however, kind of fit in with the ride path plans that we have seen including the "fun" one.

Also the fact the the old riverboat loading area still exists and the strange jut out toward the river might mean that they are going to use that building as an exit or entrance to that land. The plan below show a building in that approximate area, but it would look different that the original. Just guessing you understand, but it is suspicious to my eye. As I look a little closer I see that the gray building seems to already exist. How about maybe a picture site overlooking the projected waterfalls.

It's interesting that none of the land north of HM/iasw has been cleared, yet. I hope this is simply due to the timeline involving work on the riverbed first, rather than suggesting that they're not going to use that space (e.g., for the dark ride's show building).

All indications/concept arts are that the Riverboat building survives...Just how is TBD...now it's part of HM queue.
