3. Again, why include her in this specific project if she doesn't sing? It's not like she's some compelling character. The song is her whole thing.

Shouldn't dismiss CONFLICTS put in front of the guests... We don't care that we really don't have individual rockets on Space Mountain.. but if you put some American Indians in the sets.. we'd still wonder wth that was about and see it as a negative.

So what, they’re rewriting the entire lore of the tree of life now? What is even going on lmao. If I wanted to watch Zootopia, I could just load up my Disney+ app and watch it. Disney simply amazes me, they make a phenomenal new country bear jamboree and Little Mermaid show but then completely decimate ITTBAB with an awfully lackluster replacement.

I really wonder if anyone in imagineering seriously sat down and thought “Wow, this is definitely better than the original”

They just aren’t trying. There’s no depth of storytelling. No education. ITTBAB was a masterpiece compared with this and it’s not close.

Right, but there’s nothing that egregious here. Frankly the issue is the story, and not honoring the thesis of the park. They could use the exact same concept, and if they had just honed in on the themes of Animal Kingdom, it would have worked.

I know many still wouldn’t want Zootopia at all, but it could have worked.

Now it’s just a cute, family friendly show, that’s out of place in DAK.

This doesn't sit right with me. Animals DON'T coexist like in Zootopia. They are ruled by the forces of nature, which another poster states "we evolved beyond." This is an extremely problematic statement to make in a park dedicated to showcasing the forces of nature.

No? The entire perspective and roll of the audience just flip flopping without reason..
The idea of multiple places to checkout.. yet people magically transport between these locations...
To a concluding scene that somehow goes from a stage to some trippy dream sequence of a stage show?

The entire thing can't seem to make up it's mind if you are supposed to be watching a movie, or be part of something.

Forget the 'doesn't belong in DAK' stuff.. if it's a good attraction people get over that. The problem is if you don't love zootopia before.. you're not really gonna make sense of this thing.

Attractions like Splash worked for people even if they didn't know the source content. This one desparately needs the audience to be bought into zootopia before you even start.. It's going to be it's downfall.

Start the betting pool on when Disney changes this show.. It's amazing to think weak efforts like Monsters Inc Laugh Floor were dramatically better than this.

Much like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure though, I gotta say, atleast the audio-animatronic figures look great. The figure of Clawhauser looks & animates particularly nice. But again, he just should’ve been utilized much better than what we got, in an area & space that fit.

I think it did make up its mind, you just don’t like the conceit they chose.

For me the conceit can and does work, a simulcast event where you get to see various biomes makes some sense. But the story lacks what DAK requires.

If they had paired a simulcast live event, with a story fitting for DAK, I’d have little complaint with it. You can easily explain the effects in the theatre with Carrot Vision and the latest in drone technology.

Turn the space into a rabbits burrow theatre below the tree, tell a story about the environment, and how they are conserving, protecting, or nurturing something in each biome, perhaps using some new technology, then have the “villain” doing something to disrupt their presentations or make the tech fail.

My point (ignoring the armchair stuff) is that the conceit isn’t the issue (for me). It’s simply the story missed the point of the park.

What a world we live in for all people being welcome to be a “controversial political take”.
Just depressing.

I won’t get into politics here though but oof. Animal Kingdom is inherently a sociopolitical park. That’s just how it was designed

With the approach they took with this show it would honestly fit better... slightly... at Epcot. It's very frustrating how often they use an IP and with some effort could still make it fit thematically, but of course instead you just get a rehash of what was in the films.

Frozen Ever After - use Frozen characters to talk about Nordic and Viking stuff? Nah, just recap the movie.
The Seas with Nemo - use Nemo characters to talk about the ocean and coral reefs? Nah, just recap the movie.
Cosmic Rewind - Put an emphasis on the big bang, energy sources, etc? Nah, just have a big bad guy do big bad guy stuff.
Ratatouille - have Remy take you on a daring tour through Paris and show you French cuisine? Nah, just have the bad guy chase you around.

This could have and should have talked about their different biomes or something. Instead the only, and literally only thing that ties it to DAK is the fact that they are animals.
