DAK “Zootopia” is being created for the Tree of Life theater

Here are my thoughts:

Overall, it’s fine not spectacular. “Cute” is a word I’d use to describe it.

BACKGROUND:

I never had a connection to it’s tough to be a bug first off. The movie traumatized me as a kid and I think I’ve seen it once or twice ever in theater. Zootopia is a much better franchise for an anchor.

SIGN and QUEUE:

Overall, reminds me of old AK in terms of colors. I’m fine with it. Queue essentially the same.

THE SHOW:

Really not a fan of these weird disjointed cut scenes. I much would have preferred the show to revolve around Nick and Judy exclusively to solve a case and have nothing to do with Zoogether day. In my opinion, the film is much better when we are watching detective work being done and less on the actual Zoogether day premise. For what we got, the criminal plan isn’t very clear and looks like it was thrown together pretty fast. Still not very clear on the whole giant fan thing at the end and how each individual sabotage connects.

In terms of AA’s, I like Clawhauser I think that’s a fine trade for Hopper, the Donald Duck butt trick for Bell Weather is also cool.

The song is actually less annoying than I thought it would be. Don’t get me wrong it’s not winning any Oscars, but it’s better than that clip they released a few months ago led on. I would have probably just put in “Zoo” or “Try Everything” though as the finale song. I’d have to experience it in person to access the in theater effects.

7/10 is the rating I’d assign to it, though I never really liked its tough to be a bug so can’t compare there.

That's sadly what they seem to do best these days.
Disney doesn’t have the proper creative talent in place right now to replace these iconic attractions. (Okay, TTBAB wasn’t all that iconic…) The type of creative team required to replace what they’ve been tearing out comes along at Disney about once every 20 years or so, and now ain’t one of them.

Yes, it does seem like there was a talent purge at WDI likely at the time of the Chapek disaster.

You’re right it’s harder to screw up a coaster as it will be fun regardless for those who enjoy coasters. But WDW used to be so much more than that.
When I said that, I think of a coaster like this to be so much more then “six flags” level coaster. Take Guardians for example it is a very themed coaster. I think Monsters has the potential to be the most elaborate themed coaster on property. Lots of cool stuff they can use, that would elevate past just “another coaster” and truly make it a “Disney” coaster if that makes sense.

Based on peoples first opinions, I was going into it with pretty low hopes but after watching it... I liked it?

I'm not going to pretend its Disneys best 4D show but it was cute, funny, and imo fun. A solid 7/10. I'll be going back to the parks in February and I'll go watch the show in person then. Would love to see how the effects all work/panned out. I will say my only real 2 hang ups with the show is that.

1. It could have been much more actual animal centered. I felt like this was more centered about the "biomes" but then having little Rodentia felt strange instead of the Jungle/Desert. Just a personal take.

2. The jump cuts can be distracting at times. Overall fine and I know why they did them but to me, it took me out of the story for a second.
