I didn’t say it was a monument to tragedy but that doesn’t mean it won’t illicit a negative response from riders.
Are they Too delicate to handle it?

…yeah I’m not making excuses for that.

And besides…it’s still the largest city in the country!!!

Hate the rats and the bridge tolls…not the people and it’s history

And it’s a film clip…you don’t have to go down into where the wreckage was (guess who actually has? In 2003-2005)

"Sea to shining sea"
"Americana"

Those suggest a number of which will likely be included... if you're willing to throw out your personal biases as to "what has to be included!!1!!" and look at things realistically.

No matter how you slice it there is no good reason to put that scene in when it has the potential to illicit a negative response from riders. The Statue of Liberty represents America and NY just fine. Also if the past is any indication you don’t really visit multiple areas/ icons in one location. It’s one scene/ icon/ landmark and you’re off to next.

You seem to be speaking as an authority without the background here…if I’m wrong…correct me

I hear that…Century 3 on a Saturday in December held some of my best memories

Packed from open to close…the decorations in Kaufman’s, gimbels, hornes…good times with good people

Bonus points to you if you can recall where, when and which store ran this ad. This reprint is hanging in my office.

I think it's fair to say that Disney will omit anything that can explicitly be tied to tragic events. Most people don't want such stark reminders of the real world while at WDW.
You’re welcome to your opinion

Mine is that since it’s the financial center of the known universe…it probably fits as reference as to the country that controls like 80% of the wealth on the planet…

But that’s just my opinion

To be clear, I'm talking about a sequence that focuses on the World Trade Center and Ground Zero. The tower will probably be visible anyway, since you can't really show Lower Manhattan without including it.

I agree with you there…they’re not gonna have a drone hover over fountains…

But any contention that the man babies in Epcot can’t handle a shot of WTC 1 in a flyby is just patently silly.

In the Golden Dreams sequence at the end of the American Adventure, President George W. Bush is seen standing with the firefighters and saying the first part of his speech through the bullhorn, "I can hear you!". Everyone knows what that reference is. Also, I'm not advocating for anything. Earlier, I just randomly thought of Freedom Tower and Ground Zero today (the fountains in the WTC footprint) as possible things that could be shown.

I think you missed what @mickEblu was responding to:
Icons I can think of (in no particular order are):
  • Freedom Tower/Ground Zero
He was simply saying that he didn't think it at all likely that this particular landmark would be highlighted in the film, and it seems you agree with him.

Yeah I was gonna mention that

As they have had the challenger crew an hour before the incident in the same sequence for the last 40 years…

Damn…40…seems like yesterday

In one of my rare optimistic moments…I like to think “getting back up” is an American trait…

Not making a grumpy face if something not 110% sugary is shown on a screen after my princess breakfast in fake Norway

There are obviously going to be exceptions. The American Adventure is an exceptional attraction in several regards, and one of the few to deal explicitly with some of the tougher aspects of history. But as a general rule, and especially on attractions like Soarin', reminders of real-life warfare, terrorism, etc., are avoided at Disney.

The "like" was to his agreeing to most of my post about good options for the new Soarin. I wasn't aware a "like" was a requirement to be entirely in agreement with a post. I saw that comment and moved on. Apparently, you haven't.
