October 2025 Price Increases

I'm the fist one to agree that Disney isn't luxury.

But the undertones and the buzzwords they use to justify $1000 a night rooms, $200 day tickets, $5,000 drinks, surge pricing, pay-per-ride attractions, overpriced hard-ticket events, overpriced and portion reduced meals etc. They most certainly are conveying a luxury message.

Agreed

Agreed, again.

Let me ask you (keeping Disney out of it), if you won a prize and the prize was defined as "A 7 Night Stay at Deluxe accomodations where you will enjoy signature dinning and exclusive experiences while shopping at stores that offer Limited Edition collectibles and special after hours access to amenities. ---- You thinking a glorified motor lodge with over priced food, a parade, and hat with Mickey ears? Or are you thinking Bora Bora?
I’d be thinking it’s a scam.

Seriously, if the point you’re trying to make is that Disney is over-“puffing” its product with that terminology I agree. On the other hand, they thoroughly explain what it is you’re buying.

If you’re equating Disney to a motor lodge with a parade, overpriced food and a Mickey hat, I couldn’t disagree more. WDW is still so, so much more than that! There’s so much to do and enjoy there.

Yes, it’s overpriced but people are willing to pay for it.

I don’t agree for one minute that people are somehow being conned out of their money by Disney misrepresenting what they are delivering. At least I’ve seen no evidence of that.

Yes, and they're luxurious! I'm not sure what you're getting at.
I'm not getting at anything nefarious. 😂 Just trying to figure out what people consider luxurious. I've done a lot traveling across Europe, US and Asia. 40 cruises and I don't think I've ever taken a truly luxurious vacation. At least to what most of you consider luxurious. I just like to travel.

Luxurious experiences and products don't have to entail travel, at least by my definition.

That's not what we are talking about. There will always be people willing to pay for anything. No matter the item. No matter the price.

And it's not about Disney hoodwinking people. There is enough information about Disney for people to do their own research. But it is undeniable that Disney is selling a middle class product at luxury price tag and using terminology they feel justifies that in the mind of the consumer.

If they’re not hoodwinking people and they’re advertising is within legal bounds, what is your exact issue?
