I do feel like they didn’t realize the ROI they were expecting on MB+2, and also know they can collect and capture far more granular data from requiring iPhone/Android access than they could ever get from these bands.

This company is crazy - they wasted money giving me magic bands at every check in even though I didn’t want them and didn’t ever use them.

A couple of horticulture guys witnessed it…but they were transferred the next day to pest control and were last scene being eaten by gators behind French quarter….

We loved the free magic bands! We loved getting in the mail! When we can get something/anything for "free" from Disney, it was magical! I know its not free because we are overpaying for EVERYTHING, but it was still fun!
Well I guess we no longer to need to worry about Disney wasting money giving magic bands at every check in

Husband and I are scheduled to arrive 11/3. I had put off buying a new MB for him until he could look at the designs with me. Log in tonight only to discover there is no more discount. and NO notice given that it was going away. I had already spent quite a bit of time searching for a discounted one when I was there last month with a friend, looking at Character Warehouse and Cast Connections. I'm certainly not reversing course now. *grumble grumble* Yeah, it's "only" $10, so in the grand scheme of how much they're getting from us, it is pocket lint, but it was MY $10. And now it'll be my $45, because no way I'm spending full price for one of those. Guess we'll find out if his three year old band works!

The selection of bands eligible for the discount was always extremely limited. Sometimes it felt like a reject pile. Still, the optics and feel of another perk being removed is almost worse than the monetary loss.

They could also say the bands are getting worthless farther and farther in and just tell guests to use the App for everything instead....That way other stores could then figure out what to put in them once magicbands are officially dead..

Aka the newer models. I have no idea what line mine is but the battery it came with still works and if I were to get my AP back tomorrow I believe I can still use it. And thus I wouldn’t be paying 50 bucks for another one
