MK All-New Nighttime Parade Disney Starlight Set to Debut at Magic Kingdom in 2025

It would really be a shame if the flying gets cut as you can really tell the Pan unit is missing something. As it stands now, Tink interactions seem to be the highlight. The float itself is nice looking but just lacks its own unique magical moment.

I guess very few will ever know if it doesn’t happen (since it hasn’t yet), but for those of us who do know, it’s fairly obvious given the character dialogue and movement. Hopefully the lawyers haven’t squashed it already!

Now that I've been thinking about it, I don't think the lawyers would squash it, there are similar stunts in Festival of Fantasy that have never been cut, like Flynn and the Ruffians swinging and the circus girls on the swings on second to last float. Hopefully they get it working! Plus I have to imagine they cast Peter Pan and Wendy in this parade with the intention of flying.

We just talked about this on the August 18 Disney Dish. Starlight's doing well, especially with the (most important) adult and seniors categories.

Way too many of these are only magical moments because it's not the float's normal state, not because it's actually something impressive or wow worthy.

Unless the idea is supposed to be they're magical moments because you're unlikely to see them, because I definitely missed/had to look down the route to see a couple.

Yeah…. A light changing color or screen getting brighter isn’t a magical moment.

I could adjust the brightness on my laptop all day long, even time it to music, that’s not magical lol.

I have a feeling Peter Pan and Wendy will eventually fly. They are just saving that for a special date for the sake of an announcement especially now that Holidays are coming. It would be such a waste hiring people with specialty skills and not even use it unless they got rid of them and just hired normal dancers.

It's taking them a bit longer than they'd wish but the equiptment is still on the float if you look closely. It's a different system from what tokyo had & they won't fly as high.

All the ground performers besides the royal court dancers have been missing from the first showing of the parade for weeks, they always come back for the second performance. So what's that about? I'm hoping/speculating that it's because they're getting new costumes or choreography? So maybe they're rehursering during the first show? Or their props just aren't working but that doesn't make any sense since the Moana wave dancers are also missing and they don't have any light up props anymore. Whatever the reason is it's just another thing they need to fix with this parade, along with getting Peter and Wendy flying.

It's certainly popular, Magic Kingdom is packed at night, they frequently make announcements 30 minutes before the first show that all viewing is taken up. Although I assume a large factor of that is simply the newness.

Performance times for Disney Starlight have been added to the calendar through November 1 and remain at 8pm and 10pm on nights without a Halloween party.

GSATs are strong and, importantly, ops has relearned how to run a park with fireworks sandwiched between light parades.

That’s odd. Sounds like a scheduling issue then? But that’s bad show… despite the ground performers already being bad show.
