Hard to see how the herringbone colors will not distract against the distinct tones at GF. Maybe if it’s going to walled off from the existing tile? And depending on the new rug? I really hope it all works. There’s a certain warmth currently that I don’t think these tiles seem cohesive.

I wonder if it was the same person who picked the tile for Morocco? ;)

It will indeed be walled off and isolated, only abutting the carpet. Planters always blocked circulation there, and the new planters are shown being installed in the same spot in the latest pictures, just now with alcoves against the bar to accommodate seating. That said, despite the fact that it will be isolated and visually obstructed so as to be minimally impactful, there’s still really no reason for it to be so different as far as I can tell. I don’t think the carpet will make sense of it; every sample thus far has looked floral.

It actually makes me wonder if there’s a plan to eventually re-tile elsewhere. The shops have also leaned more geometric and pure-white lately.

Hey Disney - Cracker Barrel is even course-correcting mid-construction. There’s still time to do the right thing and rid this project of the putrid stench of Gensler-ism!

In an homage to the classic birdcage they removed while building this bar, are they gonna’ name it “The Beak and Birdcage”…?! 🤔

The problem is that Cracker Barrel got nationally barraged for what they did. Every news agency picked up on it and ran with vocalized customers complaints. In comparison, anything Disney has done in their parks or resorts that we don't like and complain about ( and rightly so) doesn't get enough numbers or notice for them to give a hoot. Iger will never be in danger of being dropped over poor choice of tiles. And how many guests will refuse to book trips over herringbone pattern.

That is completely false. We know that Disney listens to GSATs, which are the opinions of guests who go to the parks. They've made changes based on those GSATs. So please stop spreading falsehood.
I know my posts trigger you. I apologize. Please just take my posts a me being salty not factual.

You Sir post facts, that is your job.

Please give me examples of Disney making changes based on GSTATs

Please don't use making resort parking free again for folks who stay there as one of your examples.

I know you can provide better ones.

@lentesta just mentioned on his podcast surveys querying what sort of resort amenities are worth keeping (including early entry and free resort transportation to the parks).

It’s clear they’re not movitated to exceed or surpass guest enjoyment or satisfaction with these surveys, but rather divining what the “lowest minimum dose” of amenities they will continue to offer while also raising prices.

I do wonder what specifically in the surveys does Disney ever take action on?

I wonder what percentage of things asked in the surveys ever actually evolve into a change guests see?

I have been asking for hot tubs and water slides at values for years, even when I do not stay at one. Price point!
I have been asking for gyms at values and mods for years, it's all about the pricepoint.

The removal of SGE from the MK. It was the ranked the lowest on surveys for the park and the overall GSATs for the MK went *up* with its removal.

Harmonious accrued lots of bad marks for the poor sightlines and ugly daytime appearance leading to lowered attendance and less restaurant reservations. A completely new infrastructure was built to please the guests.

Likewise, Enchanted which was supposed to be the 50th Anniversary fireworks came out late and was made to not really be a celebration of 50 years of the MK. Disney's intention then became that Enchanted would stick around for many more years. But, GSATs showed people preferred HEA.

Then there is both Bobs at Quarterly Calls lamenting how GSATs go down when the park feels overcrowded. That leads to less spending and the likelihood of not returning. A lot of levers were pulled to deal with that. A lot of levers we don't like... until we visit and are happy it's not insanely crowded.

Online "super fans" can try to bully Disney parks all they want, but the voices that really count come from those being surveyed while in the parks or shortly after a visit. The millions who show up every year have a bigger voice. They are the ones -- the ones spending money in the parks -- that Disney is more inclined to listen to.

Which means, your constant public performance of constantly insulting Disney parks (whether or not you meant it as a joke, and we all know you don't) amounts to... nothing.
