My niece is three, she loves villains, plays with Ursula as much as she plays with Ariel. My eight year old niece adores anything Halloween/villain related as does my 5 year old nephew. My 12 year old nephew, hates anything scary. Not every kid is scared.

Who used the word banished? We moving the goal post now? You know these games don’t work on me man.
LMAO! HAHAHAHAHA! Thanks for the laugh, I needed it.

Ok man, that is the game you want to play, fine. But we both know that even if you didn't use that specific word that its been insinuated by you including in your original post today when you said this -

Surprised to see Dr. Facilier pictured as some of the inspiration for Villains Land.

How could I think he is banished if I've literally seen his meet n greet character at Oogie Boogie Bash. You are wild.

Yes because that means they are considering using him for an attraction which they did not for TBA. Are you all there today?

Yeah, my point exactly.

You losing your mind there or what? This was literally my point and just discussed 2 pages and 2 hours ago.

you missed the second part of my post. Im seriously considering not engaging with you anymore. I need to know that when I spend time here posting all day that I'm engaging with someone in good faith and/or someone that is capable of comprehending what I'm clearly saying

what you missed above : (which I already explained earlier)

"Yes because that means they are considering using him for an attraction which they did not for TBA. Are you all there today?"

The company hasn’t built a villain climax ride since Rise opened. Everything since has avoided it (Celestrials are not villains, they are at work for the common good of the galaxy, even if Earth must be scarified) it’s getting quite tiresome. Randall, Ernesto and Thanos better be major parts of the new slate of rides.
If I remember correctly in cosmic rewind Eson the searcher says that there was some sort of mistake with earth and that as a result he must use the cosmic generator to go back in time to stop the earth from ever forming. What that mistake was isn’t elaborated on but the celestials need earth to incubate new ones. Going back in time to stop earth from existing is counterproductive to that so I think it’s safe to say that esons goal is more evil than the celestials normal one.

Alright man, thanks for the posts.

Its clear you're just looking to be right today, which is why you're playing this semantics game with the words.

You know what you have insinuated all along, and its funny that you never once in the several hours of discussion today questioned the use of the word "banished" until now. If it was such an issue and wasn't what you meant you would have said something right away hours ago, as you have in our other interactions over the years, and not just now after others started saying the same thing that Disney never abandoned him.

Have a good rest of your day.

Don't pull me into your feud, I'm innocent, lol.

Anyway I do hope Facilier gets added into the ride eventually. I think Tiana's Bayou Adventure is wasted potential in that the animatronics, music and atmosphere of the ride are great, but the Disney Jr.-esque story and lack of tension severely harms the overall ride. I think a TBA had the potential to be better than Splash Mountain, but that potential was squashed by a terrible no-stakes story. I think a revision of the plot with a true suspenseful climax on the lift hill could go a long way in redeeming the attraction for a lot of people.

Lol I wasn't. Just interesting that he liked your post when I've been saying the same thing which he apparently disagrees with. I don't think Facilier solves all the issues but he helps a lot. Particularly with the absolute worst part of the attraction. You have the potential to turn the worst part of the ride into the best part of the ride which can go a long way in changing peoples perception of the attraction. Still not a huge fan of the "find the band" storyline and would like to hear a new storyline/ audio there. The rocking back n forth figures are still bothersome too. Not that the old Geese etc. were the most advanced AA's of all time but they moved in a way that was more convincing and not so repetitive which goes a long way. The awesome Marc Davis designs didn't hurt either.

HOW COULD I THINK HES BANISHED IF IVE BEEN TO HIS MEET N GREET AT OGG? I explained to you the difference between having him in an attraction or keeping him around as a meet n greet. Do you read my posts?

I always assumed that they did that because the actual movie's story takes place over a day. Unless they decied to do a book report, it had to be set after the events of the film. And if they did a book report style ride, the final drop is towards the end of the ride, so storywise the final drop would've been Facilier's defeat in a flat graveyard, not him singing his song like many armchair-imagineered because that takes part towards the beginning of the film. Fitting the story around the already existing track prevented them from doing the book report style, so they had to set it after the events of the film (when Facilier was dead)
How about half of a book report ride? End it with Facilier and the drop. Honestly, how many would care? You could skip to the happy ending at the party.

As I said have a good rest of your day.

I've moved on from this now, its not important to me any longer.

And yes I read your posts, all of them, even if I don't respond.

Lots of anecdotal takes about how “my kid isn’t scared!” And like. Yeah! I believe you. That’s not my point. They’re going for mass appeal here. Every child is different.

Guess this answer from earlier didn’t seem logical for you?

Most kids would be far more scared of a 50 foot drop than Facilier’s shadow on the wall with “are you ready” playing in the background. The movie they see all the time. The 50 foot drop? Probably new for a 5 year old.

Our small data set seems to lean more negative, but overall, the general population actually supports this attraction, according to the numbers. So where do we truly stand? Would it even make sense for Disney to update it? Honestly, the ride feels like a poor man’s Dora the Explorer episode—minus the excitement from an encounter with Swiper or the Grumpy Troll. There’s no conflict or real purpose to this attraction. And yet, the crowds seem perfectly fine with it—even in its broken state. Which honestly is kind of impressive yet still a painfully sad commentary on the state of things.

In the end, when it comes to TBA.. I’ll start caring when they do. Wake me when Facilier is added.

So working with Chat GPT I came up with a new pitch to “test the waters” on this Dr. Facilier idea…

Concept: “Dr. Facilier’s Spirited Splashdown” – A Seasonal Overlay for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Inspired by the success of Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark, this limited-time Halloween transformation would introduce a thrilling new storyline after dark at Disneyland.

The Pitch:
After sundown, the bayou changes. Tiana warns guests that Dr. Facilier has returned from the other side, determined to crash the Halloween festivities. Guests must help her stop his mischievous plans before the spirits take over the celebration.

How It Works:
  • Show Lighting & Atmosphere: As evening falls, the attraction shifts into a spookier tone—darker lighting, eerie projection mapping, and atmospheric smoke effects bring the bayou under a haunting spell.
  • Facilier Integration: Dr. Facilier appears via dynamic projection sequences throughout the ride, replacing Mama Odie’s key moments. His friends from the other side creep in through shadows, animated effects, and special lighting.
  • Music & Audio: The soundtrack transforms into an ominous remix of Down in New Orleans, leading into a high-energy version of Are You Ready? for the main drop. The finale celebrates a playful twist on “special spice”—this time, tied to Halloween candy magic.
  • Queue Enhancements: The exterior and interior queue could receive easy, seasonal overlays—think lanterns, voodoo talismans, and mystical decorations that foreshadow Facilier’s return.
Why It Works:
  • Fills the void left by Ghost Galaxy and complements the Oogie Boogie Bash at DCA by creating a Halloween hub in New Orleans Square/Bayou Country.
  • Provides a low-risk, high-reward way to “test the waters” for future seasonal transformations.
  • Gives fans of Princess and the Frog and Disney Villains an extra reason to return during Halloween season.
  • Unique seasonal overlays with limited availability create strong demand for Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane purchases, particularly from repeat visitors and annual passholders.

He was stopped from appearing in anything new in the parks for awhile and his meet and greet character pulled.

That’s stopped now and his new costume is part of that.

When was this? Because as I recall he has been at OBB every year outside of the pandemic closure.

I can’t speak for any other Disney Park but at DLR he seems to always have a presence every year, again as far as I can remember.

He stopped at OBB a good few years ago. I want to say when Madam Mim debuted but I’d have to look it up. He’s not appeared as a meet and greet character since at DLR other than his recent appearances in his new outfit.

You sure? I mean I could be wrong of course, but there were a few years where he wasn't advertised but was still present, mostly in the backlot if not in the parade or on Villains Grove.

For example here is 2021 -

Here is 2022 -

Here is 2023 -

Here is 2024 -

And here is 2025 -

I could go back to 2019 and before if you want and check, but as far as I can tell he hasn't skipped a year other than 2020 when OBB was cancelled.
