Audio-animatronics are great and are enjoyed by all ages... so it's certainly interesting that Disney has three audio-animatronics in bars and one in a restaurant not designed to push alcohol. It might make one question their priorities.
Disney gets people to spend tons of money without needing to get them tipsy lol.

You’ve said this several times and I don’t find it persuasive. There’s a difference between “pushing” alcohol and just providing it to people who want a drink in a fun environment.

Disney themes its bars to appeal to all ages because families generally stay together on vacation. There really isn’t a child care service and people aren’t looking to leave the kids and go to a bar and get drunk at MK.

You consistently pretend that Disney has no ability or desire to affect guest behavior. We all know that’s nonsense. If a behavior is becoming more common at Disney parks, it’s because Disney WANTS that behavior to be more common. When Universal wanted fewer guests to drink and for those who drank to drink less, they took very concrete steps to deter drinking. Disney, which has more power over guest behavior then Universal, is taking opposite actions now for the opposite reasons.

The idea that Disney is responding to broader trends is provably false. Drinking in America has become much, much less common. In fact it is currently at an ALL TIME LOW. There is absolutely no surging demand for booze in the park - demand was much higher when the Orlando resort opened. Disney is not following trends, they are trying to counteract them - because they have immense power over guest behavior.

If people don’t want to drink, Disney isn’t going to make them do so by putting a themed bar in MK. It will go out of business. People who drink less at home may want to splurge and have a drink or two on vacation.

I’ve never said Disney doesn’t influence guest behavior but “immense power” is an exaggeration. People who don’t want to drink alcohol aren't going to change their minds because of Disney.

“Just providing” something would be adding a few options to existing venues. Not spending millions of dollars to create a dedicated venue that almost exclusively serves alcoholic beverages and where multiple decisions were made to increase output (no soda fountain, only premade drinks).

I don’t agree. What you’re describing doesn’t sound like much fun and I’m not sure existing venues need more options.

“Just providing” is providing what people want instead of pushing something they don’t want.

You may not want a themed bar in MK where people can have a drink in a fun environment with the entire family but I suspect there are many who do.

Not everything at Disney is intended to be for everyone. If people don’t want to take their kids or into this venue or patronize it themselves they can avoid it.

The was a session today that included folks behind the development of the food and beverages. Did stand out to me they mentioned quite a few times about how it is for the whole family and they did taste tests with kids and got feedback (and mentioned one drink that didn't make the cut due to that feedback). Definitely a focus on families enjoying themselves

So, supposedly this bar/lounge is "extremely loud", there's a 45min time limit, drinks are pre-made and of course, not cheap, it's a family friendly-kids allowed environment. This doesn't sound like the kind of place where people would want to go get 'hammered', lol.

Disney is not forcing anyone to make those adr's, and then "pushing" people to drink alcohol if they don't want to.

Anyway, I think Beak and Barrel looks nicely themed and well done, I also like Rummy a lot, and would like to see him in action at least once.

Not sure if this has been pointed out yet, but while editing the channel I work for's review of the Beak & Barrel (still working on it rn lol) I had Paris's Pirates music loop playing to listen to as I work, and I noticed that the background music in the Beak and Barrel is possibly the same music loop, or at the very least, reuses a lot of the songs.

If anyone's been there in person and recognizes the music let me know if I'm right haha!

Then reasserted the same family friendly plans for three DCL Destiny Lounge venues (Haunted Mansion, the Pirate lounge - Cask and Barrel and Dr Strange’s Sanatorium).

It’s a space designed to appeal to children with a menu overwhelmingly composed of alcoholic beverages.
Now this is just silly. You're trying to make it sound like they themed it to Disney Jr. or Bluey or something.

While pirates do appeal to children, the theming is clearly overwhelmingly popular with adults (even those without kids) as well.

Not to mention a Pirate Tavern being a natural and perfect theme for a bar. Drinking is an integral part of the pirate mythos, including those at Disney's theme parks. Should I post every instance of alcohol consumption depicted on the original ride? And how about the most-repeated line in the theme song's lyrics?

"Drink up, me hearties, yo ho!"

In fact, I'm not sure there's a more appropriate theme for a bar at the Magic Kingdom than pirates...
