DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

I’m not sure why we don’t get more of this by design. Not necessarily every other show - but at least some variety.

Bugs life / zootopia would have been a good one.
Maybe for Muppets it could go testing out the new 3D tech in the day time for Muppetvision3D and during the evening hours, the show transforms into an epic Muppets rock concert (using the previously used tech) or Late Night themed show. It would be trivial to make the switch as all it would require is turning off certain effects and switching out the film. The Muppet concert could still take place in the Muppet Thester inside Muppet Labs/Studios as them “practicing one last time for their big show later” which is perfect to connect with RNRC. Or a late night show hosted by the other muppets as a sort of “after show” after their concert with EM and other guests being the guest stars

Because her nearly 20 year career is starting to run on fumes?
Okay let me just reclarify something.

1. I don’t dislike Taylor Swift both personally or musically.

But she’s 35 years old. She’s not going to be performing live concerts (the theme of this ride) forever. Especially when she can EASILY retire anytime she wants. Be realistic

I think Steven Tyler was 51 when the ride opened... and probably could have retired at that point if he wanted to.

Genuine question but is this wall actually necessary, seems like it makes a kinda odd bottleneck and separation between Sunset Showcase + the RNRC courtyard, if they wanted to make this little back area Muppet themed, seems like a good idea to take out if at all possible, even if it requires changing up the queue a little.

Shoving the Muppets IP into the RnRc thrill coaster is like turning It’s a Small World into a Thanos or Chernabog ride.

There are way better options and the muppets need their own thing imo, Disney is just taking the cheapest route while trying to band-aid those upset from losing M3D as quick as possible .

Phineas and Ferb is quite literally the best possible IP to put in Rock and Rollercoaster- it’s whole gimmick is a song every episode and their first episode is literally a rollercoaster. Oh well.
Speaking of Phineas and Ferb, I bet the folks at Disney are kicking themselves for retheming the Agent P thing at EPCOT to DuckTales, since that show got cancelled a year before it opened and Phineas and Ferb returned.

I don't even know what the comparison is this is such a nothingburger of a statement. The Muppets do 100% make sense for RNRC, so much so that it was literally pitched by the producers of the most recent Muppet TV show (Electric Mayhem)

This idea didn't just come from nowhere.

Ok. I guess we can just enjoy our old RnRc coaster with some new paint, decor, and a few muppets things rather than a new all fully muppet themed dark ride.

Let’s not forget, there were once plans for something like this https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/The_Great_Muppet_Movie_Ride

Where is this notion coming from that The Muppets is a children's IP? The humor has always been primarily aimed at adults in core Muppets projects.

I think the bigger worry is the core fan base getting too old to handle a ride like this lol

On the plus side, maybe some teenagers or other younger people that more want the thrill than the IP will get exposed to Muppets and have a positive experience with them

Yeah, but we were not getting that?

It's an concept art from over 30 years ago in a vastly different time when the Muppets were super popular. They are not that anymore. This is a much cheaper and more efficient way to keep the Muppets around and could still lead to other attractions being built nearby (there are still backstage areas directly next to and around RNRC that could potentially be moved. So yeah, instead of being poo-poo about something that was never going to happen anymore, I'm going to be excited about what we can get.

Here's some more beautiful concept art from 20+ years ago that never got made to get mad at.

Does anyone remember the first concept art for the exterior of RnRC? It was more detailed than the soundstage and giant guitar we got in 1999 that I remember
