Maybe they’re getting ready for flight.
What was my first thought but the pessimistic side of me just thinks it was an unrelated issue. What's up with the Moana fans? They've been off for weeks. They better be fixing that, we can't have a whole group of dancers completely dark. The ground costumes in this parade are so bad, they really to go back to the drawing board with almost all of them. The only one I would keep is Tink, the rest need changes or a complete redesign. Court dancers need more lights brighter lights, the rest need complete redesigns with the appropriate amount of lights so we can actually see the performers. Especially Encanto and Frozen, those are the worst offenders by far.

Saw a poll on FB of nighttime parade rankings and many seem to shred Starlight and put it last on the list with Light Magic. That’s pretty sad and not good if that’s the way the vast majority feel about Starlight.
If WDW had done surveys for Starlight I’d love to see those results.

I have not seen in person watched it twice. In comparison to others we have had its by far the worst imo

How large of a poll?

Wasn’t really a poll but more opinions.

I don't think Starlight will have the same fate as Light Magic just because the IP saves it. People will always be excited to see Elsa or Moana on a parade float. That and it seems like funding for Starlight was given begrudgingly.

Light Magic has several things going against it, despite a pretty decent soundtrack.

  • It had to follow in the shadow of MSEP.
  • It wasn't really a parade. More of a dance show, that you needed to be in the right spot to enjoy.
  • The floats were all the same, they entered in the darkness sans any characters, and not much to see as they went by.
  • The fairy critters were creepy.
Starlight is following in the shadow of... no night parade at all, for quite some time. It's already ahead, despite its flaws.

I think it’s more that it was taken begrudgingly, or at least that’s what it seems like many have implied. Leadership wanted it, but the parks didn’t really want to run it.
So MK never wanted to go back to their 1977-2016 Standard..........Yeah, don't know if I really believe that!..... Sure looks like Old School MK every Night! (even with MNSSHP!)

I'm not saying Starlight is 110% Perfect and can't be Improved, but to put it in the same Family as LM so we worry about its Fate ...That's Too Far IMO!
