It would have been awfully hard to keep MuppetVision open with that level of destruction taking place right next door.
If Muppets stayed open, they wouldn't have started the demolition.

Well that was quick.Aerial photos by bioreconstruct showing the demolition of Stage 1 Company Store:

You’ve taken a “beating” for going “nuh uh” when you are the one not familiar with what is involved and are now lecturing about how others aren’t considering things. Until recently, you didn’t know why water management permits weren’t being found for this project.I've also taken a beating for my opinion here.
I get your side… I disagree with some of the things that have been said about the riverboat. Sometimes things get said “factual” that do indeed have a bit more nuance. At this point, I'm done with the back and forth on this. I clearly disagree with the motive here.
Not necessarily. They could (should) have done a disassembly to recycle materials sort of like they did with the CommuniCore buildings. A slower, more meticulous, process that would have greater control. It also would not have been hard to cycle guests back through the entrance or the extended queue. If Muppets stayed open, they wouldn't have started the demolition.
I appreciate that @TrainsOfDisney.I get your side… I disagree with some of the things that have been said about the riverboat. Sometimes things get said “factual” that do indeed have a bit more nuance.
But you seem intent on proving other posters wrong - I’ll poke fun at others (which sometimes is hard to read intent… I’m trying to work on that) but at the end of the day we are all fans of the parks.
At the end of your life the great Walt in the sky doesn’t give you a reward for being right about the muppet land demolition. Haha.
Yep, removing that building in the middle opens up a whole "town square" setting that could be charming and create new places to just hang out and vibe. Could end up being a really nice addition. It’s weird to see how the absence of one building makes the area look so different.
removing the building provides a wide path leading to a rollercoaster in a warehouse.Yep, removing that building in the middle opens up a whole "town square" setting that could be charming and create new places to just hang out and vibe. Could end up being a really nice addition.
To me, it looks like there is enough space to eventually do another ride, maybe a dark ride entering the factory through a “side employee door” would be coolI'm curious what they are going to end up doing with the road between the land and expansion.
I think there is a chance that the road stays there and is opened at night for access to the backstage areas. I think there is a road like that between Batuu and Toy Story land. But I could be wrong.I'm curious what they are going to end up doing with the road between the land and expansion.
The exit of the theatre lets out into the construction zone. Why would Dis corp close MV3D sooner than they need to?
Preference.
Just a few pieces of plywood over the rubble woulda sufficed for guests' exits. The exit of the theatre lets out into the construction zone.
Having worked in the brutal South Florida summers with an underground contractor, those look like 5 to 6 foot (Height) drainage concrete pipe. Probably need added storm drainage with the scale of the "box".Bio also posted some photos of the door coaster site and seems like some concrete forms on side - looks like cylinders like for piping or infrastructure or something

Correct.I think there is a chance that the road stays there and is opened at night for access to the backstage areas. I think there is a road like that between Batuu and Toy Story land. But I could be wrong.
This is just staggering arrogance (and why you’ve “taken a beating”). And before you respond with the obvious rejoinder - yes, I come across as a pompous blowhard, but when I’m corrected by people who know what they’re talking about in fields that I don’t - people like Lazy or Marni or UNC or any number of other posters - I listen and sometimes I even shut up.All of those things do not equal motive. Your educated guess on motive is as good as anyone elses. The WDI line was an analogy of being an real insider behind all the decision making, not just someone who has experience with construction and projects.
There are others here who haven't chimed in a while that I consider insiders and said the same thing I did: they closed MV3D because construction was imminent.
At this point, I'm done with the back and forth on this. I clearly disagree with the motive here.
Pray to the gods of your "knowledge and experience" that the Monsters show (or land itself) doesn't open before the door coaster or I'll be back with vengeance.
Also, I'll add this caveat, if things start to move terribly slow in this space for 3 years, I'll come back and eat some crow.
They all sit on one anothers' boards and vote giant salaries and bonuses for one another.I’m completely baffled how everyone is just ok with the difference in pay. How does a Board of Directors agree that any CEO is worth that?
