Well, it's time to be mean again...

While these are cheapo garbage quality that won't hold up past the first couple of uses, there are kid's wearable butterfly wings on Amazon that cost less than $30 that still look far better than Starlight's. I am not exaggerating...

And before you say anything, yes I know these are cheaply made trash that will fall apart after a few times of being worn, if they even survive delivery. And they're obviously nowhere close to their prior parade costume standards (but again somehow vastly better looking than Starlight's). One expects that Disney's should be vastly better looking than this AND better constructed to hold up over time... Except oh wait, not only do these somehow look better, but turns out Disney's are ALSO already falling apart after only a couple days.

Disney's bar is so low that they're playing limbo in hell's basement.
Even though there’s a coupon, no one at TDO will spring for the prime membership.

That’s about the main critique I have without trying to pick it apart as a mission.
It doesn’t take someone with a mission to see this parade offers considerably less than previous night parades. That’s not an opinion, it’s a fact.

But it’s also true that what is offered is mostly Disney quality (frozen float and broken butterflies lol) and well done. The music, concept, and theme carry it.

Legit it's redeeming quality, that wonderful soundtrack! It is funny how they always work Baroque Hoedown into all their night parades, even Light Magic.
It also suffered from being forced to debut before it was ready, the annual pass holders just weren't having it. And they remain completely unforgiving. One of them was my friend and told me just how terrible it was.

I went in July of its first and only summer. It was about 2 months old now. The aforementioned friend join me because he wanted to see my reaction.

When it ended I was like " I don't know, I kind of liked it 😁" In his reply.... " That was not what debuted a few months ago."

It definitely does not translate well on video. But it's all for not. It went on "hiatus" after that first summer and never returned.

I don't think Starlight will suffer the same fate but here is my ratings of Starlight. I'll rate it in the following manner. A zone you don't want to be in, unacceptable to poor. This means the product is just bad and should probably just end.

A midland zone you still don't want to be in but at least it's salvageable would be just "just okay to good". Within this zone you have something to work with, you shouldn't just scrap it but you should definitely invest more into it.

And then finally there's "very good to excellent." Clearly this is the zone Disney would like to be in for something like this.

For me Starlight comes in at a solid good. It's better than just okay, but it's not "very good".... It might be on that cusp between good and very good but it definitely lands on " good". And this means it needs tweaks and possibly some minor additional investments.

Wish list : Starlight has tributes to the mainstream electrical parade, Wishes fireworks (via opening narration) and spectromagic. But I would like to see a little bit more of spectromagic so change those butterflies... Remake those costumes as similar as possible to the butterflies that appeared in spectromagic.

Whimsy being a train is already a tribute to the main Street electrical parade via as his appearance is similarity to Casey Jr in that parade. And then you have Jiminy cricket at the end, but maybe add some of the spectro type ball floats with a few characters riding on those trailing between Mickey and Minnie and the logo float that Jiminy appears on. It'll stretch out the finale a little bit more. These balls combined with that logo float at the end could sort of count as its own "10th" unit of the parade while also adding sense of kinetic energy to the finale.

They’ll extend that closing time.
Not necessarily - I’m sure they will do 1 parade and a 10:00 close if they can get away with it.

But for now at least… all is right in the kingdom!

This is the proper hours for a castle park (sure Disneyland often stays open till midnight but I’ll give them that hour pass.)

That 30 minutes between fireworks and the last night parade was golden! Even Peter pan was practically a walk on

That’s not the plan during party season.

Last I’d heard, the first time they’ll consider dropping to one run per night is January.

They need an entire ground unit between Pan and the Train. A character palooza, dancers, Spectro balls. The whole gambit.

Some may disagree but Magic Kingdom would have been better off with Paint The Night. Overall Magic Kingdom needed a parade on par with Tokyos Electrical Parade Dreamlights and Starlight is not it. Starlights Blue Fairy is embarrassing compared to the one in Dreamlights. As others have said the lack of performers and small floats are a big issue. For me the theme song for the parade is alright but meh. Each floats music is kind of boring. The finale version of Baroque Hoedown is the best part.

The butterflies continue to break, I noticed they took the top of some of them Made them tighter. And they're still breaking, and they don't look good. I give it a month tops till it's replaced with real consumes (hopefully)
They took some off because some of them stopped lighting up or straight up fell off and started dangling by the led wire.

I just saw the 11 pm parade. While I liked Starlight on video, I loved it in person. The music and the floats were great, and the vibes overall were magical during the parade. My main complaint would be that the Encanto dancers need to go. Starlight now probably my second favorite of nighttime parades, behind Paint the Night, but beating out Dreamlights.

Did you ever see SpectroMagic in person?

It was far superior to this new Starlight Parade... The music was catchy, the overall length of the parade was better...It seemed more alive... I have not seen Starlight in person yet, just a video observer, but overall it looks a lot darker, and just not as whimsical and fun...Like the new designers were trying to capture the essence of something that was great without ever experiencing it... It would have been nice to have had music with lyrics... Like the previous Spectromagic... Costumes looked sparse on actual lights. I am very glad there is a nightime parade again... that is wonderful... and as others have said, the Butterflies and lighted triangle dancer units need to be re-thought...

That would make the most sense - when only having the parade 3 days a week or so, really do need to run it twice as those nights the park is packed and would be tough for just one parade ... Then down to one a night, but 7 nights a week, after the holidays can work
