MK All-New Nighttime Parade Disney Starlight Set to Debut at Magic Kingdom in 2025

Definitely needs more ground units to fill the dead space. Floats look great especially the last one when it added color. Only real complaint I have were some floats were to big for just two characters, could've have added more.
I believe the view was that characters showcased on the float drew the eye enough. So, we will see Frozen characters on screens with Elsa, for example. It’s up to the individual whether they agree but it’s how they approach rides, too. In the case of Frozen, at least there is precedent for seeing characters in the ice.

#1 thought is…. It’s so good to have a night parade back at Magic Kingdom!!!!! It makes the loss of the riverboat sting a little less that another major part of the park has returned.

I know I’m spoiled rotten but having the luxury of seeing Paint the Night last month….. Paint the Night beats this for sure. By like a lot. And I like the IP’s in Starlight better.

I think they were going for a scaled up electrical parade - which I love in concept but just like Disneyland itself…. The charm can’t always be scaled by just making things bigger.

So many large floats with just 1 character seemed like an intentional budget decision as well.

Princess float is beautiful with truly lovely choreography - the true highlight for me!

Loved being here for opening night - very fun to make history! I’ll try to see it again on Sunday as well (as was my original plan!)

Random thoughts from watching a livestream.
  • Soundtrack is gorgeous and a knock out. That theme is so damn catchy.
  • Pinocchio and Geppetto look like they're contained in a fish tank. Why? Makes the float look boxy.
  • Forever grateful Wish has a mini float. I'm mad Star is contained to a screen.
  • Paint the Night really scared them from embedding lights onto dancers' costumes, huh? Understandable, but the scuba suits aren't doing it for me. The walk step choreography they give them is also baffling.
  • Elsa's float being a mini Ahtohallen looks fab.
  • Thank god for the court dancers. The royal float is a touch too tall? But some floats from MSEP were like that too, so not the worst thing.
  • The B mode choreo from Peter and Wendy is cute. It's going to absolutely rock when they get up in the air.
  • I've only just met Whimsy but I'd die before anyone says one mean thing about him.
Can't wait to see this in person next month! Ultimately, I think PTN edges this one out by a bit, but despite my quibbles here and there what a gorgeous return to form for the nighttime spectacular at MK.

I agree. I really feel like Paint the Night was a big evolution from the classic Disney night parade. Really bringing it into the 21st century.

This new parade is beautiful, and still looks new and fresh, but also feels like we’ve stepped back to the old iteration of night parades.

Not necessarily a bad thing, but I think I wanted to see MK attempt a major evolution from Spectro or MSEP, and this feels more lateral.

But thank goodness they have a night parade back, now fix FoF.

Agreed. This feels more like a Dreamlights with updated technology while maintaining that nostalgic feel. Hopefully a night parade will cover up whatever new day parade they can bring in the future.

I wonder if they partly did this, making it seem a little more old school in style, knowing Paint the Night, which is more modern, is playing at Disneyland now, so trying to have a balance/difference between the coasts vs something that maybe competed more directly with Paint the Night

They definitly were going for a dreamlights/spectro feel instead of upbeat PTN, the finale float audio features a snippet of dreamlight's finale audio.
