They could easily resolve that by adding a faux lapel mic to his suit lapel. Then we can hear him broadcast throughout the theater as if the mic is providing the audio for his voice.

I also think it gets to the point that a lot of the noise right now is hyperbole, or hysterical, and not at all as big a deal being made out. Perhaps it’s not perfect, that’s fine.

I’m sure many would argue the first Abe animatronic was not perfect either, and nothing like the one we see today.

But this is certainly a big leap in more life like, human figures. I am sure in the future when they decide to build a new version of him, it’ll be even better and closer.

But sometimes it’s okay to just live in the moment, and allow for a little suspension of belief.

The figure’s movements look very natural! Very impressive animatronic, even if the face is not perfect.

Many are reporting that it looks better in person than on video, especially when sitting close to the stage.

I’m excited to see the rest of the show! If I was a kid learning about Walt for the first time and then experiencing Disneyland? For me, that would be an incredible experience and truly special.

I feel like many on this forum are being nit-picky about the aesthetic look of the figure instead of admiring the genius of highlighting Walt’s story in Walt’s park especially when very few people that knew the man are still with us today.

I'm aware of Eisner's faults, but at least Eisner actually tried to be as charismatic and presentable as Walt did on public television and special occasions. As evident in numerous introductions Eisner did for The Wonderful World of Disney and Disney Sunday Movie program during the 80s and 90s.






There's even a playlist that shows all of Eisner's introductions during The Wonderful World of Disney and Disney Sunday Movie.


When I see or hear Iger speaking and hosting events, he comes across as more stoic and less passionate. Just look at his opening day speech for Shanghai Disneyland.

I doubt Iger would make the show sound genuinely interesting like Julie Andrews did for Walt Disney World's Share A Dream Come True Parade (which ran from 2001-2006) which celebrated Walt's 100th Birthday.

Bonus points for the German shepherd.

Interestingly the set dressing seems to be from a later period with an photo of Lincoln, the jet used to survey WDW, and a motion picture almanac with the year "1965" on it.

I agree that it’s off model. But I don’t think it looks creepy or bad. Looks quite good. Not watching the full show but the celebration of his animatronic legacy in the wait room seems nice.

WDW acolytes want to fixate on Cars, but that received with practical exuberance compared to this. I commented on that it seemed to be the most controversial announcement of the night. Not surprised.

This is a huge step given that this means the end of Disney’s “Splash Mountain Who?” Era. Even if these are just three small concept art drawings, this is the first time since the closure Disney has actually acknowledged the existence of Splash in the US parks

Overall I think the museum queue is excellent. Almost an attraction in itself. I like how the props get larger and more interesting as you get closer to the theater doors. While Walt doesn’t look spot on, I think he more than does the job. The one issue I have is how crackly the voice sounds. As much as I hate the use of AI, I wonder if they could’ve used it on the audio files just to remove the radio static noise.

The guy is so out of touch to think that the audience excited for this show wanted his voice narrating. What an ego.

If it was about Walt they should have tried to use someone who knew him while they are still with us. Dick van D, Julie Andrews, Hailey Mills, or Kurt Russell would be on my list but I’m sure there would be others people can think of

Those eyes definitely look creepy to me. There’s something weird going on. I think they wanted him to have that twinkle in his eye. But instead they look more lifeless and robotic because of that feature.

If you mean, "OK", then yeah, I agree. It's OK. Standard. But as a celebration of the man, the Walt Disney Company perhaps best known for Audio-Animatronics and it's founder; Maybe, they could have done a little better. Maybe?

But yeah, let's not nitpick it. God forbid! lol

The figure is acceptable. I don’t know what they did to the voice, but it doesn’t sound like him.

I believe at one point they said they were planning to use Walt's own voice. Could there be a possibility the family blocked it's use?

To make you feel better even that awful Madame Leota gift shop is not as bad as the ugly awful garbage planter with the broken in ground lighting in World (Celebration?) "rust" Gardens in EPCOT.

As much as I think they missed the mark with his face , this is a good add to the park. It honors the visionary that started it all .

I’ll make the plan to see it. Sadly not on Disneyland birthday. Sunday following. I’m more interested in viewing object lended by Walt Disney Family Museum.

Presumably it uses the same "One Man's Dream" film used in HS. Maybe at some point in the future, the Walt AA could be added to the theatre in Walt Disney Presents in HS.

With the reaction they are receiving already from just the photo and short video, there is no way this is coming to Florida. I can't believe they haven't turned off the comments on Facebook. Everyone is saying it doesn't look like Walt. They really must have thought this was going to be a win for them.
