I hope this doesn't go political but that's probably wishful thinking.
I was just looking at the bicentinial disney parade book the other day and thinking that even though next year is the 250th anniversary, outside of the hall of presidents I doubt disney world will really acknowledge it.

I know it wasnt just disney, that the entire US celebrated and there was a ton of merchandise. Outside of some pins and maybe a shirt, do you think Disney will acknowledge it at all?

I remember the bicentennial - barely, I was 6. But I do remember there being a build up and planning for quite a while beforehand. Maybe because one of my friend's mother was on our local bicentennial committee, but I remember there being planning, and talks, and things like that went on in 1975. Maybe my recollection is faulty, but I don't think it is getting as much focus this time. I suspect WDW will do something, but not much.

This is a recent ad I've been seeing from TWDC. They're still patriotic just like the founder, and not afraid to show it. 👍

I wouldn't be surprised if there's something special for the 250th at the parks. May not be as big as the Bicentennial Celebration, but something to honor this great milestone.

Fourth of July and the fireworks prove that disney is still patriotic, I just dont think Disney, other companies, or small towns will recognize the 250th like they did the 200th. Every town had a parade for it, there are so many toys and trinkets that you see in flea markets or ebay for 1976 that are super patriotic. But next year I feel will fill like any other year, maybe things ramp up around july 4th but I doubt we will ever see a parade at disney or mass celebration for the 250th.

Just funny how things have changed,

I would hope Disney would recognize this banner year and do it up well. Who is in office doesn't/ shouldn't matter. It's all about recognizing the birth and rise of America and all it accomplished throughout time. No matter what political affiliation one holds or the anti Trump feelings one has, it's your country that has allowed you the opportunities you have. Whether you take advantage of what's open to you or not in your lifetime is on you.

Not holding my breath.

Firsty, if it isn't on Disney+ it won't be in a Disney park anymore.

Secondly, patriotism, nationalism, and indeed American history itself are viewed upon with negative suspicion by Disney. It would rather not touch these. There's a clear political aspect to WDW in the last few years having gotten rid of nearly everything in Liberty Square / Frontierland.

Its a more modern take but Tiana's and Cars are Americana too.
