There's boat traffic, both Disney Transportation and guest recreation, on the Sassagoula River, so I don't think that would work, as cool as it would be. Docking it at Riverside would make SO much sense, but they'll never do it. Grand Floridian doesn't really make any sense, other than the fact that it sort of aesthetically fits, but I'll take it if that's what they want to do.If they were to build track for it would it be at all feasible for it to go back and forth between Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter? Even if just for some evening some dinner/ dancing cruises? I guess they could dock it and do that too.
lol you re going to minimize it to “something there” compared to MK losing its entire river and island and riverboat. Cmon, it was a poor comparison. Not to mention pretty much every guest facing part of the ROA / TSI was unchanged other than the back portion you could only see when riding the Mark Twain or other boats. To try to compare this to what they’re doing at MK is… a take. To the majority of guests what they did at DL didn’t change any of the experience.
Not sure I’m following. The only thing we care about are the boats? It’s the whole thing. It’s the atmosphere- the river and island anchor the entire west side of the park. The boats are one part of that.
Tsi? No it was pirates. The fort was lost long before that
Roa as an attraction? The show scenes were gutted ages ago…
F! Changed the island towards FL
The entire riverfront had been changed to adapt for f! Viewing.
The untouchable RoA area was gutted ages ago. All the ‘but walt…’ speak about tsi/roa was violated ages ago. The trimming of the river itself wasn’t that big of a deal because the red line had been crossed ages ago and all the tears about the fort, the burning cabin, etc had long teetered out. All the fire and brimstone talk aged out when folks like lutz went dark.
The DLR purists are a minority and dying breed… overtaken by lifestylers and now influencers.
For me, safe means "it's not turned into wood chips that will be sold in a gift shop for $69.99 a pop".Selling it means it's not safe. It's only safe if I can see it somewhere.
Will it still be visible for a few days at least? I get in on Tuesday.
welp this is gonna look weird for a long timeView attachment 869307
Fort wilderness, Bay lake, seven seas lagoon add much more to MK as well. If DL removed ROA their entire resort has no more boats.Has something there… but not unmolested, not as much. Let’s be honest… the only portion most dl fans care about is making sure the riverboat and Columbia are still there.
TSI and the fort were lost hopes nearly 20yrs ago…. And nearly everything along the roa show scene wise was even worse
Like bolting the red car trolley at the entrance for us to walk past and sadly rememberI think the most likely outcome is it getting docked at a hotel. Probably Floridian.

Today was the last day. I just felt this little gem should be reposted.Disney DOES NOT HAVE TO REPLACE OLD ATTRACTIONS TO BUILD NEW ONES. That is a CHOICE, and it is a choice they ONLY make regularly in Florida, the resort in which there is the LEAST reason to make that choice.
As a kid, shooting from the fort and running on the barrel bridge.Do you guys have any favorite details on the island, boat, or river route?
Mine is the fossils in the walls of the tunnels, and the gold in the walls in the part that's supposed to look like a mine shaft.
The weirdest part is the train not being around the whole park now on the mapwelp this is gonna look weird for a long timeView attachment 869307
I really do wish we got a blurry version of the planned Cars expansion instead of the weird grass patch lol
Well, It does seem that since Potter Disney has been trying to be following Universal rather than the other way around. These farewells for the best and/or most important parts of the MK are just ridiculous. First Splash and now this. What guy from Universal got hired to destroy the parks from within?
