MK Hall of Presidents Replaced by Muppets American History Show???

It depends upon the time of day, but HoP generally saw higher gross daily attendance than MuppetVision did, at least during recent years.

Why this is the case is up for debate.
At the very least, longer hours at MK and more daily visitors, so that could help to skew attendance regardless of how “popular” something is. Regardless, it doesn’t have to be a competition whether or not Disney made a good choice in replacing MV3D doesn’t have anything to do with whether keeping HoP open makes sense.

I have never seen HoP even close to full in my entire life (nearly 30 years). Even in a time where patriotism and Americana wasn’t tarnished, it was empty. Country Bears, Tiki Room, PhilharMagic, Carousel of Progress, and MuppetVision have always been way more full than HoP whenever I’ve been (CoP was the least full but still more % full than HoP)- and I’ve only gone during off season times until this past trip I just did, but summer is now off season so I guess all 6 of my trips have been off season.

Surprise surprise- people prefer fun and fantasy over history. People go on vacation to have fun, not to be lectured on things they’re already taught in school. History is a cool subject, I love learning about it, but your average tourist doesn’t want to spend their time on their expensive trip doing something boring.

The fact they have security posted throughout the attractions entrance and building is kinda insane lmao. Cast members are asking people to be silent/quiet during the show too, which bless their hearts for thinking people won’t be cheering/booing specific names during the long name read

Yup, you can't silence the Van Buren Boys!

Awesome. Kudos to Disney for making the right decision. Now I hope they keep the attraction indefinitely but if they plan to remove it, announce they will do so well in advance of Nov 2028 so no side can accuse them of doing it because a particular person won.
I’m still amazed it wasn’t changed a couple decades ago when civil discourse started to nosedive, I think announcing the change now would be the correct course of action, that way no one can complain it’s a decision that favors/punishes their party, a simple change like adding new Presidents but limiting them to an acknowledgement wave like most the animatronics would solve 75% of the animosity.

I’d still like to see the speaking roles limited to Washington, Lincoln, etc, limit speaking roles to those who have been out of office for 50 years, that way they can save the attraction without the hostility.

i think the current solution with the oath is perfect. (And said so when President Biden was in office as well) - having the current President represented and speak is a novelty and part of the appeal of the attraction. It should actually be considered a great honor that WDW is allowed to do this. Who else could call up the White House and get permission to do this?

Worth mentioning that, like the previous version during Biden's presidency, the incumbent's name is not spoken by the narrator.
Yep, and of course certain people are acting like this is new and Disney is “showing their bias”. I’m sure if they knew Biden’s name wasn’t said (or Obama, or any former Dem since none of the incumbents have had their name said since they started having speaking roles) they’d be cheering that but still be upset about this.

Not to be nitpicky, but the narrator did announce Obama's name, but that was during the prior iteration (I believe narrated by Morgan Freeman). It wasn't until the current iteration 'The Idea of a President' that debuted with Trump that they stopped announcing the incumbent's name.

As someone who generally is supportive of Trump, I take no issue with them not announcing his or any other incumbent POTUS' name, so long as it is consistent, which of course, it is (given they did the same with Biden).

Good on Disney for taking the high road and not giving in to childish discourse.

I can't wait for my next visit to go see the attraction! Whenever I do visit, I expect to likely only spend a half day in MK as I prefer Epcot and AK but this assures some nice air conditioning while I visit a couple of things at the park. I've seen every president since dubya and this will certainly be a historic one with Trump serving non-consecutive terms.

Security being there seems odd as during recent years any discourse I've encountered was during Biden's term. People cheered when I last saw Trump and yelled at Biden during his speech (which I loudly shooshed those people if certain people would believe it).

I'm already doing a bunch of travel next year but if Disney goes all out for the 250th birthday of the country, I might just make a quick visit instead of waiting for 2027.

Why not believe it? This is the internet, where people believe anything and everything!

I think your premise that frivolous = fun and educational = boring is completely wrong. Also, I do think that the average tourist likes to do things where something is learned. I just came back from a vacation to Moab, UT, where there are mobs of tourists going to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, learning about geology and the history of the area. Come to think of it, I didn't see a muppet at any of the attractions.
