Visions Fantastic: An Imagineering Competition (Game Thread)

Welcome to Visions Fantastic! a brand new Armchair Imagineering competition beginning tomorrow, June 25th. In this game, players will be challenged with various prompts made to push their creative limits as we explore the worlds of Disney, Universal, and other theme parks around the world.

The game will be broken down into eleven total projects broken down into mostly week long time slots with a single two week project and a speed round containing smaller solo projects that will be submitted to boost the team scores.

To begin there will be one elimination from the losing team each round until the speed round. Once the speed round is complete, the lowest scoring teams will shed a few players going into the final few rounds until the semi-finals where we cut down to just three players entering the finals.

RULES:

1. NO AI. NO PLAGARISM. All projects must be made by the players be it through writing, art, presentation, etc. You don't have to be the best writer or artist, but you cannot copy others work or use a bot to make it for you.

2. Be kind to one another- This is all for fun and so players are expected to remain kind even in moments where you may disagree with your teammates, the judge, or anyone else. All rulings are final even if you disagree.

3. Extensions kept to a minimum. I set up the weeks purposely so that I will be able to review on the specific review date and too many extensions will throw that off. My real life job makes it difficult to allow myself time to read or write on any day other than Tuesdays so I scheduled around that. I understand real life can get difficult but I will only approve extensions on rare occasions. Otherwise, submit what you have!

@AceAstro

A legendary player who (despite winning Manor of Mysteries and OSC) seems to always come in second place. Despite this, Ace is famous for their contributions to some of the strongest armchair imagineering projects of recent years as well as in some of the best memes in the community. Will Ace break the streak and take home another win? Or will Ace remain the birdesmaid? We'll have to wait and see!​

@Architectural Guinea Pig

AGP has grown into a consistent presence with the armchair imagineering community, taking part in a lot of strong projects both in team competitions and in solo efforts. While still one of the relatively newer players, AGP is a force to be reckoned with and certainly a player that should be watched.​

@Brer Panther

One of the players who (I believe) actually was a part of the Visions Fantastic Forums making them a long term mainstay in the community. Brer Panther is known for their dedication to custom artwork consistently creating some of the most iconic images in any of these games. I still think back on their wendigo design from a few years ago as a highlight of that game.

Beyond art though, Brer Panther’s consistent presence in these games is noteworthy and while they don’t always have the flashiest part of the project, their focus on smaller but equally important elements in a land or a ride is worth keeping an eye on.​

@Disgruntled Walt

A brand new player coming straight off the heels of the OSC, Disgruntled walt has shown themself to have some great ideas and a strong imagination and combine that with their unknown skill in longer-form more detailed projects makes them an unpredictable wildcard in this game and certainly someone to watch.​

@Disney Warrior

Once a pacifist, Disney Warrior has become a staple of these games in recent years. Being one of the younger players fresh out of high school, there’s certainly a lot of growth Warrior has had already and continues to have. Their skills in brainstorming and writing have grown exponentially and they really have come into their own settling in on their role of Warrior. Certainly one to keep an eye out for.​

@Earlie the Pearlie

Another relatively newer player but one who took the OSC by storm and is currently hosting it brilliantly. With some amazing brainstorming skills and now hosting experience under their belt, one has to wonder if this is Earlie’s game to lose?​

@Half/CartoonHalf/Human

HCHH is another newer player though has been pretty consistently appearing since they joined the forums. Another younger player, the growth seen in Half/CartoonHalf/Human's games already is palpable and it's exciting to continue to watch their growth through this game!​

@JokersWild

A legendary player who is stepping out of a soft retirement to join our silly little game. Jokers is the master of the eclectic and the esoteric as well as a brilliant songwriter and a true-blue poohper if I do say so myself. Joker’s biggest downfall is their real life commitments, but when they’re active and committed, everybody watch out.​

@Lizzy May Bee

Lizzy’s contributions to our community is measured in memes, with some absolute classics coming from their days as “Orange Cat” and their Garfield themed project. Lizzy is always one to pop up in a More Pooh Talk to celebrate our sponsor Budweiser Zero or to cheer on the people’s champ in a Disney debate. Lizzy doesn’t just do memes though, Lizzy is a consistently strong player whose biggest pitfall is time management, but when they’re ready and willing, Lizzy can be an unstoppable force for memes.​

Watching Lord Fozzinator grow from MuppetsFan to how they are today has been a humbling experience. So much growth in such a short time since Manor of Mysteries, it’s honestly powerful to watch. I truly believe if Lord Fozzinator is committed they have the opportunity to run away with the whole thing, but hey, I feel that way about pretty much everyone so I guess we’ll have to see.​

A player returning after a time away, it’s incredibly exciting to anticipate what MickeyMousketeer may bring to this game. Has time away molded a secret weapon to winning this game? Only time can tell​

@Mr. Sullivan

Based on the last game I played with Mr. Sullivan, too scared really is where they belong because the fact every round the team hosting sulley won was a terrifying thought to the other teams. Is Mr. Sullivan that good? Absolutely. A creative powerhouse able to write, do art, and brainstorm, this triple threat is both someone to watch and someone to fear if you want to win this game.​

Outbound and I came up around the same time and despite some time away from the forums, Outbound has consistently been one of the absolute strongest players I’ve seen in these games. Their ability to brainstorm and write is a dangerous combination, always coming up with ideas I’d never expect and executing it brilliantly. Outbound is one to watch this game.​

Another long time player, Pi is a dangerous combination of efficient seriousness and utter chaos that lets them tackle even the wackiest projects with an utter sincerity that is both enviable and scary for players who typically play one side or the other. A jack of all trades, Pi is a powerhouse to keep your eye on.​

Space has always been and will always be a legend in my eyes. While maybe not the player with the most wins and a player with a pretty busy life and career, Space always makes time to keep this community alive and help new players make their way in the community. A real king of the forums if you ask me, and one who (when available) can be an absolute powerhouse in the creativity realm as well.​

Legend after legend, this game is jam packed with them and Tcool is absolutely fitting in that realm. While maybe not the most consistent player in modern years, tcool has remained in the community and has more than a fair amount of games under their belt. Some excellent creativity and writing combined with a powerhouse status and one has to wonder if tcool is going to take the whole thing.​

@Tegan pilots a chicken

Tegan, alongside Pi and Lizzy, makes up the trifecta of chaos and memes while also being an incredibly strong player in their own right. Certainly a force I’ve had to battle in the past and Tegan is one that, while incredibly kind and friendly, also manages to strike fear in the hearts of players who see the writing and creativity skills at work. I’d say watch out for Tegan, but I think we all know that already.​

ThemeParkPriest is a player who’s always a lot of fun to watch play. A unique background can help to inform creative decisions you’d never expect and Priest has that in spades. Between being a consistent player, a unique background, and some real skills at writing and homemade art, Priest is someone to watch as we go through our game.

Oh Tiki, where do I even begin. Tiki is an iconic player and host alike with some serious skills in creative writing and also in strategy when playing these games. Tiki wears their passions on their sleeve and is a player who loves to show off what they love. Tiki is a powerhouse in the truest sense of the word and someone who absolutely needs to be watched.​
