It is similar but with some physical effects but some screen based. I definitely think upping the amount and scale of physical effects would be a benefit and also just make it a little less complicated (the data pad app can do a lot so can be hard to navigate / overwhelming for first time users - need to ensure simple process)
I remember the "promise" of personalized interactivity within the land and a new kind of theme park experience. It sounded really exciting to me, but didn't seem to come to fruition.

Definitely fell short - remember the idea that your performance on Smuggler's Run would be tracked and then when you walked into the cantina the bartender would make comments to you based on your reputation, etc
Some of those promised things shifted to being at the Starcruiser - hoping at least some of that can now come to the land but not holding my breath
Let's rattle off some of the attractions that have recently opened that hasn't utlized LLMP: JoW, Bears, Villains show, Mermaid show, Dreams that Soar, Summer Kids offerings - none of it leverages LLMP. Plus Disney isn't some altrustic company that should just cast aside ROI.
Soo....a splash pad walk through, a cringe projection-based show meant for babies, a quick refurb of the same Mermaid show I saw there in the 90's, a drone show at their mall, and temporary junk and dance parties for babies. Can't imagine why Disney wouldn't charge extra for these experiences.
Thank you Disney for resisting the urge to find a place to put a queue for standby vs LL at the Moana walk through area. We were so wrong about you!

Not OP, but I also find it extremely cringe because it basically adds nothing to the conversation and is just a tool to complain, say look at me, and stir up rage. We weren't talking about LL, monetization, or anything like that... posters do it in almost every thread and it's just repetitive and lazy.
Putting my armchair imagineer hat on... It would be great to have a family friendly, high capacity ride in this space.
I like the cave idea, but maybe it's a local Batuu tour company that is showing off some natural flora and fauna of Batuu (Think navi river journey, but pirates capacity).
This could be 100% atmospheric and just be a peaceful ride. Another option would be to run into some sort of dangerous creature that is attacking the boat and we have to take a small drop to escape (less extreme Jurassic Park River Journey). A third idea would be more comical in that the tour company is clearly "staging" low budget scenes for us gullible tourists, but then we turn off course and actually see some really cool sets/creatures (kind of like the pacing of MIB).
I would appreciate 1 ride that isn't about the resistance/empire and just about the world we are on.
It sounds like a Star Wars version of a ride that people already don't like at the same Resort. Plus, fictional space animals vs fictional space animals is as similar as you can get.
Bantha ride, Jedi Temple show with old man Luke sassing kids, or some type of walk through area with interactivity. If this was 20-30 years ago, I'd suggest a laser tag course themed to a Bounty Hunter training camp, but that's too violent for current Disney/current world.
I wouldn't really call them attractions. They are filler shows, a change to the jumping fountains in a common space, and streetmosphere. I know Disney labels everything as an attraction, but it's pretty disingenuous to use that very broad definition when its clear that was not the definition the poster was using.
The argument was that Disney isn't going to build modern day rides unless they think they can use it to increase the value of LL. Don't build a strawman to attack a false argument that nobody made.
Can we stay on topic and not turn this into another LL debate? This is again pointing to why I don't like those posts that just come in and complain about something that was not the topic of this thread...
Anyway... TLDR: WDW does not have a 3rd entrance and instead the berm was built as an expansion plot. Originally this was for the Bantha peoplemover which got cut. If Disney were to put a new attraction in this space, it would require LL.
Going back to my armchair Imagineering on what could go in this space: Family friendly boat ride through the caves of Batuu where you encounter flora and fauna including the Batuuan Braga Bear View attachment 865502
That feels nothing like Star Wars/Batuu or realistic. There's no space there for a boat ride, a maintenance bay, and two queues (as we know it would need to have Stanby and LL since they don't build rides like this without LL.)

What exactly do you want them to do? They aren't removing LL's.
I know you want them to build an attraction like Guardians and not put it behind a lighting lane paywall, but this is 2025. Every other theme park on Earth is doing it at this point.
I also think it's ironic for the people that endlessly complain that parks like DHS or Epcot needs more to do and we are complaining that filler shows, jumping fountains don't have value.
Yes all D ticket up will have LLs.
Last time I checked they removed all M&Gs from LLMP. Guess they don't matter either.

I have no problem with LL as an idea, its just the implementation. First, high-capacity attractions like HM and POTC shouldn't have it at all. They don't need it. And it does incredible damage to the crowds surrounding the attraction, especially at Disneyland.
I'd also tie it to staying on property. It's an available upgrade for those who those who booked a vacation with Disney.
For those who didn't book a stay on property, they can buy Individual Lighting Lanes at $25 per guest per ride. You and your family of 4 can skip this 45-minute wait for $100. Or you can just wait in the queue as intended.
Lastly, I'd have all LL queues be a direct queue to the boarding area. No merge points, no pre-show. If you want that queue experience, you need to be IN the queue. This will also reduce the frustration of watching 50 people walk by you at a merge point.
I hated Fastpass and what it did to Disneyland. It made the park so much more crowded, so I was happy when it was put behind a paywall. Now they just need to reduce the number of LL they sell to not have standby so utterly ruined. My last trip I decided to go on Mission BO. I saw them load 3 libraries of LL without one standby guest. That's not a good guest experience.

Strawman argument. Nobody is saying that filler attractions are not needed. I myself would love to get a root beer float and watch a show in the Golden Horseshoe. Or see Dr Strange perform magic at the Inner Sanctum. But I also don't think they warrant a permanent queue nor front of the line access.

Your right... the concept might be too similar... but there is room for a pretty large scale attraction in the berm. I just want DHS to have a boat ride.
Here is a very crude job of putting the DL HM in this space (Show building and mansion had to be separate, but could both fit.

I'm sorry if I missed something, but is there any substantive rumors that would suggest that WDW SGE is going to use their expansion pad any time soon?

Nope, this all started because someone asked why DHS only has 2 entrances to SWGE and DL has 3... the answer was that there is an expansion pad built into the DHS land that blocks and entrance.

I do love a good boat ride, but Star Wars (for me) doesn't seem like the right IP for it. I don't think I can recall seeing a character take a boat ride within a SW film. The closest I can think of is when the prisoners swam away from the prison in Andor.
As for fitting, you did a great job showing the size of the area, but if they want to keep walkways, they are removing at least a 1/3 of that show building. With the current orientation, you would be looking at a HM without the Seance scene, half of the hallway of doors, the Maintenace bay, the ballroom scene, the attic, and the first half of the graveyard. So, we would be left with an attraction that is the equivalent to the loading area, endless hallway, conservatory, half of the graveyard, and the Hitchhiking Ghosts. And they would still need to find room for the Maintenace bay, so probably no HHG.
Not terrible, but certainly is a much smaller attraction and not enough room for a boat ride beyond the scope of NRJ.
