News Coco Boat Ride Coming to Disney California Adventure

I imagine the primary reason the mules were E ticket was because between the number of cast needed and the mules, it was quite an expensive attraction to run.

Of course, I'm sure it was a lot more exciting to go on a pack mule ride in the early decades of Disneyland than it sounds to me personally right now.
Oh, it could be exciting. Especially when one came back with no rider and the saddle on its side, then they fix it and beckon you over.

Disney says the “Coco” attraction will be built near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier, in areas that are predominantly backstage today - construction on this attraction is set to begin backstage this fall.

This is where the concept art shows the entrance to the attraction. Where will the show building go? Doesn't seem to be any room back there

The concept art definitely shows it replacing Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta. No word yet on whether it'll consume Paradise Garden Grill or not. Maybe they can salvage that side closer to Goofy's

Hopefully it replaces all of it. This is better than the entrance being right under Incredicoaster at least.

Oh, so very close to where I thought! This makes sense.

Entrance to attraction or mini land here, with arrow towards where the main show building will be located.

They can likely reconfigure the garden to still be a plaza area, with food, and shops. With a ride entrance added.

I dont think they would put avatar in that spot. It would block off the entry point to the Simba lot when the time comes

The use of "predominantly backstage" areas makes me think it'll use the area behind Incredicoaster, with the pathway to it doubling as the start of the future DLForward bridge. Something like this:

A bit of a tight squeeze to keep the backstage roads but it seems to line up with how Incredicoaster is shown in the art.

This is what I was picturing, great work!

This would be really cool & now has me rethinking which portion of the coaster we're seeing in the concept art. I assumed we were seeing the bend near the parade gate but maybe it's the backside of that area that's currently a backstage vantage point.

So hard to tell, it could still be that vantage.

Arch - entrance here in the square, arrow pointing into the current Paradise Gardens?
