If Starlight was planned for the 50th and COVID got in the way, why wait till Fall 2024 to act on it??? MK was pretty much back to normal when HEA returned in 2023.It was.

No spare change due to both COVID and pouring all resources into what was then their top priority: streaming. If Starlight was planned for the 50th and COVID got in the way, why wait till Fall 2024 to act on it??? MK was pretty much back to normal when HEA returned in 2023.
Did they ever give valid reason why they didn’t have one?Everything looks great.
I’m so happy for the MK to finally have its nighttime parade back.

Not surprised by the Countering EU part but am Surprised with Streaming taking so much of the Parks' Budget! No spare change due to both COVID and pouring all resources into what was then their top priority: streaming.
Linear TV, a huge source of income was going to get cord-cut to death. The pivot to streaming was necessary for the company, even if their parks' investments had to slow down a bit.
And I'm sure counter-programming EU was part of the calculus.
There's an old school element coming to this parade that I think people are going to like.
I think it's the full orchestra and SpectroMagic-esque sound of the music. I'm really bummed I'm missing this by five days, but at least it appears to be exactly what I was hoping for.The last float?
They said the music won’t be just orchestral, it will also be electronic.Thank-you, WDW, for an orchestra and not gimmicky electronica -- not that electronica can't have depth, but when creating electronica for 'families,' it often becomes... gimmicky.
Streaming alone was $1.5B in the red. For one quarter. Chapek's last. Not surprised by the Countering EU part but am Surprised with Streaming taking so much of the Parks' Budget!
Like I said, electronica can be good. They said the music won’t be just orchestral, it will also be electronic.
Even though it is a massive draw on paper, live entertainment spends money but doesn’t make money. Honestly just happy that investment in entertainment is happening on this scale again. If Starlight was planned for the 50th and COVID got in the way, why wait till Fall 2024 to act on it??? ROE made $120 million (or about $6 million a year) of paper profit during its lifetime, directly attributed to its existence.Even though it is a massive draw, on paper, live entertainment spends money but doesn’t make money. Honestly just happy that investment in entertainment is happening on this scale again.
